High-rise shear wall residential building plays an important role in urban construction. The wall panel components provide main lateral stiffness and affect the use of construction materials in shear wall structure, but the optimal arrangement of the wall panel does not have a unified approach in structural design.Based on the existing research on the structural parameters of the shear wall structure, the paper improved the calculation method of wall area ratio.According to the engineering examples of two types of plane arrangement which are common in the high-rise shear wall residential building in the seven degree area, elastic analysis under minor earthquake, and elasto-plastic time history analysis under major earthquake were carried out by using performance-based seismic design method.Seismic fragility analysis was conducted based on incremental dynamic method.Meanwhile, the influence of wall area ratio on the performance of the structure was considered. The paper mainly had done work as follows:(1)The calculation method of arrangement parameters were summarized and improved.According to type of side by side plane arrangement and enclosed plane arrangement in high-rise residential shear wall structure, respectively, five examples which nearly 30 storeys and no more than 100 m tall in seven degree area were collected, and variation range of wall area ratio of these projects had been counted.Meanwhile, the usual performance levels of structure and component were introduced.Structural deformation and the component damage were determined for analysis. The quantitative performance levels based on component damage had been proposed for the shear wall structure.(2)According to the type of side by side plane arrangement and enclosed plane arrangement, existing structures in the seven degree area were collected for elastic analysis under minor earthquake.Optimal arrangements of shear wall structure had been carried out with considering the interstorey drift and axial compression ratio of the wall panel at first storey as the standard, and variation range of wall area ratio of these projects had been counted.Meanwhile, the changes in structural performance before and after wall area ratio changes had been analyzed and compared. The optimal arrangements of the same layout structure in six degree area were analyzed in addition.(3)The elasto-plastic history analysis which in rare earthquakes and the simulation method for unit and material nonlinearity in analysis software had been introduced. For the shear wall structures which were optimized before and after, using Abaqus to do Elasto-plastic time history analysis under rare earthquakes. The changes in structural performance before and after wall area ratio changes had been analyzed and compared, which based on the structural deformation and component damage.Meanwhile, the influence of wall area ratio on the performance of the structure was considered.(4)The seismic fragility analysis based on the incremental dynamic method had been introduced.Aiming at the two types of shear wall structures, the limit state of high-rise shear wall structure had been set up.Many times history analyses had been done with the incremental dynamic methods, the obtained structural parameters and seismic parameters were analyzed and established seismic fragility curves. The fragility matrix which is corresponding with the Chinese three seismic fortifications standard had been converted by seismic fragility curves. The limit state of the shear wall structure under different seismic intensities was studied before and after the wall area ratio changed.
