Railway passenger hub is an important node in the urban transportation system,serving for outside and internal traffic.The growth of outside passenger volume requests larger size railway station,the combination of the collection and distribution traffic in passenger railway station and urban traffic increase the traffic pressure of the surrounding street network,many cities are facing the problem of how to coordinate the layout of passenger railway station with the city.Firstly,through the analysis and synthesis of the literature,we indicate that single railway station can't adapt to the increasing passengers,the limited land use and street space inspire the conflict between the station and city.With the development of Passenger-Dedicated railway and the expansion of city scale,multi-station layout may be an efficient mode to reduce the pressure of urban traffic and shape the polycentric urban structure.This paper analyzes and discusses the relationship between railway station and city development,studies the process of development and layout.Meanwhile,taking several cities as examples,this paper concludes the character of railway passenger hubs in our country.Secondly,this paper analyzes the factors that affect the layout of city passenger railway stations,demonstrates the necessity of transferring from single concentration to multiple decentralization from the aspects of travel time,average trip distance and passenger flow distribution.Using the theory of node-place,this paper analyzes the reconstruction of traffic flow under the condition of the layout changing and the interactive relationship between the passenger railway station layout and polycentric space form.Based on analyzing the characteristic of transferring of railway station,this paper builds the centralized and decentralized layout model and makes trip distribution of railway terminal using intervening opportunity model.Then,the capacity of station and the occupancy ratio of street network around the station are researched to interpret the necessity of decentralized layout.This paper analyzes the practical case of Xi'an railway terminal from the aspects of passenger volume,train time scheduling,passenger traveling characteristic,introduces the railway hub layout status and the transferring mode.Moreover,this paper focuses the degree of matching railway station with the capacity of urban transportation mode,and provides the correspond advice considering present problems.
