Wind energy is a renewable and clean energy, widely distributed in the world. It is one of the most valuably of development and utilization project in the area of new energy. In recent years,China’s wind power industry is growing at a rapid pace.As the global climate continues to deteriorate, the icing of wind turbine has become one of the main factors restricting the development of wind power. There is not enough understanding of the wind turbine icing problem in the process of wind power development in China. Therefore, almost all wind farms installed in our country did not take anti-icing measures and suffered huge losses. At present, there are no effective measures to solve the problem of wind turbine blade icing, and hydrophobic anti-icing coating is also began to rise in recent years. In addition, the preparation method of hydrophobic coating is complex. And the coating mechanical properties are so poor that hydrophobic stability can not be guaranteed. To solve the above problems, the following research work has been done in this paper:Firstly, the principle of wettability of hydrophobic surface was studied, and the disadvantages of the preparation methods of hydrophobic coating were analyzed, and the ultrasonic spray technology that can spray large area and improve the performance of coating was studied. Then prepared the hydrophobic paint by nanoparticles filling method. The ultrasonic spraying machine prepared three different hydrophobic coatings of wind turbine blades using different ultrasonic oscillation frequencies that is 30 kHz,80kHz and 130 kHz,and compared with the compressed air spray coating.Through the test of the hydrophobicity and icing adhesion strength of the coatings,it can be found that the using ultrasonic spraying technology can improve the hydrophobic properties and reduce the icing adhesion strength of the coating compared with air spray technology. And with the increase of ultrasonic vibration frequency, the hydrophobic and anti-icing performance of the coating will be further improved.Secondly, the hydrophobic stability of the four different kinds of coatings were tested. And the effects of ultrasonic spray on the basic properties of the coating were analyzed. The resistance to acid corrosion, wear resistance and high temperature aging test showed that the hydrophobic properties of 4 coatings were gradually decreased, but ultrasonic spray technology can delay the decline of hydrophobic performance of the coatings, and the higher the frequency of ultrasonic spary used during the preparation process, the more slowly the hydrophobic performance of the coatings decreased. Finally, the anti-icing stability of the ultrasonic spray coating and the air sprayed coating was studied under the multiple icing/deicing cycles. The variation of the hydrophobicity and the icing adhesion strength of the two coatings were analyzed. The experimental results show that the hydrophobic and anti-icing performance of the coating decreases gradually with the increase of the number of icing cycles. The change quantity of hydrophobic properties and icing adhesion strength first increase and then decrease. The performance of the hydrophobic coating prepared by ultrasonic spray technology is decreased more slowly compared with air sprayed coating.
