Nowadays,the automobile industry is facing the enormous energy crisis and environmental pollution pressure.Researching and developing electric vehicle has become an important means to alleviate the problem.The hub motor drive technology has become an important trend in the development of electric vehicles because of its many advantages like simplifying the vehicle structure,high transmission efficiency,intelligence and so on.As for a hub-motor-in-wheels driving electric vehicle,vehicle control technology is the most central part.A perfect set of control strategy can make electric vehicles more intelligent.In this paper,combined with the actual project requirements,the control strategy of basic operating conditions were researched based on the hub-motor-in-wheels driving electric experimental vehicle that we designed.This paper systematically studied and analyzed the vehicle control system and control technology of today's hub-motor-in-wheels driving electric vehicle.Then based on the hub-motor-in-wheels driving electric experimental vehicle,a set of effective control strategy that aimed at several basic operating conditions of vehicle was researched,which including starting-up condition,normal condition,reverse condition,braking condition,neutral condition and parking condition.It can regulate the actuator in the electric vehicle to achieve and ensure the safety of driving.In order to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the control strategy,it is necessary to build the vehicle control system on the basis of the mechanical structure of the original test vehicle.The control strategy program that complied using C language and debugged successfully under the CodeWarrior programming environment was burned into the chip of vehicle control unit.A test data acquisition system was established by using LabVIEW software in order to conduct the test data collection,display and storage.Then the electric experimental vehicle equipped with the vehicle control unit was tested on the actual road,which including the outside charge,start,forward,neutral parking,reversing,braking and parking.After the test,the collected data were processed and analyzed.Test results indicated that the vehicle control system of the hub-motor-in-wheels driving electric experimental vehicle can work normally,and the control strategy of basic operatingconditions which was proposed can be realized on the experimental vehicle.During the test,vehicle can work normally under each basic condition of the vehicle.It indicates that the control strategy is effective,the response is faster,the followability is better,and it is applicable to the hub-motor-in-wheels driving electric vehicle.
