The optical signal is the most intuitive and fastest guide mode for the high-speed aircraft when landing on the carrier,especially under radar malfunction?night and fog conditions that can't read extravehicular reference.Optical landing-aid system provides position,alignment deviations early prediction,glide slope and other feedback to ensure the pilots safe.This paper tries to give some optimization recommendation on the basis of current status of basic research on optical guidance system,furthermore analysis and evaluate the system according to the theory of visual ergonomics?First,this paper gave a brief review of development on optical landing-aid at home and abroad,and then the optical signal cognitive theory and design principles were analyzed and summarized,also a questionnaire survey,observation and user interview methods were taken to explore the needs of the pilots ask the information needs at the time of carrier landing;Then based on the analysis of the research,combining with the existing ICOLS(Improved Carrier optical landing-aid system)design concept,this paper providing three sets of optical signals in different stages of different distances guided by the basic principles of recognition,giving the physical properties and Optical characteristics definition and design.In addition,developed a simulation software based on PC and flight game handle,used to simulate the optical signal and driving conditions.At last,we conduct subjective satisfaction survey and usability test on the additional signal system.This paper adopt interview method and guidance task-test to analysis from two aspects of subjective satisfaction and the availability of optical guiding signal,the results prove that with the color and flashing of the light performed on the glide-slope and centerline guidance in remote and medium distance,the pilots can get a good cognitive level and satisfaction,especially when the radar communication is disturbed or too difficult to identify landing runway context,it would help the driver successfully landing in safe area.And the same time,in spite of the pilots could nose down according to the rows of lights on some level,it did get worse satisfaction.And the optimized Fresnel lens can improve the satisfaction and the handling stability of drivers.
