Belt conveyors are equipment which transport bulk solid materials,and are widely used in logistics distribution and continuous dry bulk shipping.With the development of technology,belt conveyor is developing towards energy saving and high efficiency.However,the belt conveyor generally operates at a constant speed in actual production,and operating status cannot be adjusted according to the real-time material load,which result the conveyor lightly loaded or even unloaded.The equipment mechanical loss is increased and a huge energy be wasted at this time.Trying to improve the work efficiency of the belt conveyor,reducing the transportation cost and energy consumption has become an urgent problem to be solved.According to the German DIN 22101 design standard of belt conveyors,combined with the characteristics of the multi-stage belt conveyor system,this paper applies preview control theory to control belt conveyor speed.We use preview control to regulate the speed of the second stage conveyor,so that it can maintain the high carrying capacity.Besides,the risk caused by the instantaneous speed change of the belt conveyor may be analyzed in the speed regulation process.We attributed different instantaneous risks to the maximum allowable acceleration of the conveyor.Under this constraint,we realized energy-saving control of a multi-stage belt conveyor based on predictive control containing the acceleration constraint.Finally,the Kalman filter algorithm is used to filter out the noise of the signal detection process,and the optimal estimation of the system state vector is obtained which makes the proposed speed control strategy based on preview control more applicable.The research work of this article mainly includes the following aspects:(1)First,we analyzed the resistance and power consumption when the belt conveyor carried material according to the standard of German DIN 22101.Then,the contact is established between material loads and carrying speed.Finally,the material power consumption of the belt conveyor is connected with the carrying speed in order to analysis feasibility of energy saving.(2)We use the preview control strategy to the multi-stage belt conveyor speed regulation according to the characteristics of multi-stage conveyor system accruing materials when the feasibility of speed regulation to save energy is determined.We use predictive control to adjust the second-stage conveyor speed to ensure it is fully loaded under the first-stage conveyor capacity is known.(3)Analyze different possible instantaneous risk of speed regulation.We determined the maximum permissible acceleration of the belt conveyor in the speed regulation process according to the belt conveyor process conditions and the force conditions during operation.We think this condition is the safe operation condition of the belt conveyor and add it to preview control in order to realize the preview control with acceleration-constrained.(4)We add filtering algorithms to preview control because the belt conveyor material information may be interfered by a variety of noise interference in detect process affecting the preview speed control performance.Using filtering algorithms estimate system state information so that the final preview control law more accurate and the speed regulation process more stable.
