The counter rotating engine is a new type of cam piston engine.It uses plane and other radial cam mechanism instead of the traditional crank connecting rod mechanism as a power transmission mechanism,the advantages of reciprocating piston engine and cam engine,the piston's reciprocating linear motion through equal diameter cam mechanism into the output shaft of the motor,so as to achieve power output.At the same time,the conventional cam engine space cam is changed to the plane cam,which makes the cam processing more simple,lower cost and higher reliability.The whole engine is simple in structure and less in transmission,which has excellent low speed performance.In this paper,the overall structure and basic principle of the engine are designed,and a series of studies are carried out on the kinematics,combustion characteristics and dynamics of the engine.1.General structural design.Design the engine for the general composition,mainly introduces the cam mechanism and gas distribution mechanism.Choose the motion principle of cam mechanism and cam motion cycle number.The working order and the basic working principle are analyzed.Introduce the engine main design index and evaluation parameters.2.Analysis of kinematic characteristics.Established the engine of constant diameter cam mechanism kinematic model,calculated the basic rule of changes in the kinematic parameters of the push rod of the displacement,velocity,acceleration,etc.;by changing the structure parameters to analyze its influence on the kinematics characteristics,and structural parameters optimization design;the matrix changes to solve the cam contour curve is obtained and provide the basis for machining cam;through the analysis of the choice of the engine main parameters,the optimization design of the engine.3.Numerical simulation of work ing process.The engine working process model was built by using the engine working process numerical simulation software AVL-BOOST.The cylinder pressure curve of each cylinder was obtained.The structure of the engine exhaust system and the diameter of the inlet manifold were optimized.4.Dynamic modeling and simulation.The dynamic model of the engine is established.And the output torque curve and power of the engine are obtained by solving the dynamic model.Then the dynamic simulation model of the engine is established.The force between the cam and the stick is obtained by postprocessing.And the rationality of the dynamic model is verified by comparing with the theoretical calculation results.5.At the end of the paper,the rotation test of the rotating engine prototype is carried out.The results show that the results are in agreement with the results of theoretical analysis.The correctness of the theoretical analysis is verified.The next step will be to further optimize the performance of the engine.
