With the implementation and deepening of the western development strategy,in recent years,a large number of national key projects have been implemented in the construction of the west,such as the Qinghai to Tibet railway,West-East electricity transmission project,West-East gas transmission project,Laxiwa hydropower station etc.Among them,CPI Xining 2×660 MW thermal power plant project locates in Qinghai Province,Huang Zhong County,whose natural elevation is between 2473?2495 m.It belongs to the high elevation area and has the characteristics of low pressure,low temperature,wind speed,sunshine strong.These characteristics make the choice of electrical equipment of thermal power plant must consider the impact of high altitude climate.Therefore,it is particularly important to analyze the influence of climate characteristics on the electrical equipment of thermal power plant and using it as the basis for the planning of thermal power plant.At first,this paper introduces the background and significance of the topic and analyzes the research status of the influence of high altitude electrical equipment domestic and abroad.Secondly,according to the natural conditions of power plant area engineering conditions,combined with the relevant environmental,meteorological and geological data,this paper analyzes the characteristics and requirements of power plant construction in high altitude region,and gives the the basic situation of power plants.Thirdly,according to the two part of the generator system:generator and excitation system,this paper respectively studies the effect of high altitude environment on which it produces,through the analysis of the external insulation of generator,generator hydrogen system leak,generator cooling system,and influence of generator excitation system these four aspects to present correction method of generator system.On this basis,through the AN SOFT Maxwell software Parts for electric field analysis,high altitude generator stator winding voltage test is simulated.After that,to further consider the effects of salt pollution in high altitude area of the supporting booster station,this paper focuses on the analysis of the actual situation of boost electrical equipment in high altitude and heavy pollution condition to present the insulation level of the creepage distance and altitude correction method.Based on the theory,the case of CPI Xining 2×660 MW thermal power plant project is calculated to verify the feasibility of the modified method in practical engineering project.Finally,this paper summarizes the recommended selection method of equipment in power plant booster station in high altitude area.
