With the boom of island tourism in recent years,China's rich island resources are gradually taken seriously and developed.And the establishment of Sansha City makes small island tourism development a hot topic.On one hand,the research on the development model of small island tourism and the planning,architectural design of small island resorts are new subjects in our country.On the other hand,seeking a lightweight,easy to install,adaptable and environment-friendly building structure is an urgent problem to be solved in the construction of small island resorts.The geographical location and natural environment of the small island are unique.This feature determines that the design of the resorts is unique and the construction of the resorts is difficult.The design methods of urban resorts and the traditional construction technology are not well suited to small island resorts.Based on the study of the Maldives resorts,this paper summarizes the design points and construction difficulties of the small island resorts.This paper also attempts to solve part of the difficult problems in the design and construction of the small island resorts by introducing the lightweight steel and lightweight concrete structures which is a new building structure.The thesis is divided into five chapters,the first chapter introduces the development of island tourism and the trend of the modernization of the construction industry,and summarizes the current situation of relevant research.It also puts forward the purpose,significance,research methods and framework of this study.The second chapter is the study of the design of the small island resorts,which discusses the uniqueness of the architectural design of the small island resorts from the functional configuration,planning and architectural form.It also analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of building structures commonly used in the small island resort buildings.The third chapter summarizes the construction difficulties of the small island resorts and the structural characteristics of the lightweight steel and lightweight concrete structures.On this basis,this chapter analyzes the advantages of the lightweight steel and lightweight concrete structures in the buildings of small island resorts.Based on the previous two chapters,the fourth chapter explores the adaptive design of lightweight steel and lightweight concrete structures in small island resort buildings.According to the design points put forward above,the fifth chapter makes a detailed analysis of the design of the Maldives Veyvah Island Resort.The conclusion part of the thesis summarizes the achievements and shortcomings of this paper,and look ahead the application prospect of the lightweight steel and lightweight concrete structures in small island resorts.
