Strategy Research On Protection And Development Of Traditional Villages In Hexi Corridor

Traditional villages witnessed that human adapted to and utilized nature.Traditional villages are the precious cultural resources in our country.In the social and economic transitional period,a large number of traditional villages in Gansu province especially the Hexi Corridor suffered varying degrees of damage,because of insufficient cognition of the importance of protecting traditional villages.In the process of urbanization,vernacular architecture and historical sites of traditional villages suffered from destroyment.Some traditional villages even faced the threat of death.It is urgent to put forward the Hexi Corridor region traditional village protection development strategy.The research objects are traditional villages in the Hexi Corridor area.On the basis of analysis spatial distribution characteristics and protect dilemma of traditional villages by using various methods of literature analysis,interdisciplinary comprehensive study and the combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis,to reveal the root causes of problems and put forward the Hexi Corridor traditional villages protection targets and strategies for the sustainable development.The thesis focuses on the following three aspects:summarize the spatial distribution features: using Arc GIS10.3 software to analyze the space distribution types of Hexi Corridor traditional villages and conclude three core distribution area: the Gulang-Liangzhou district,Yongchang county-Shandan,and Jiayuguan city-Yumen city,and explore deep reason of spatial distribution from the natural environment,economic factors,cultural factors,and military factors to explore deep reason of spatial distribution.(2)analyze the protection dilemma: through analyzing the present status of the traditional villages in the Hexi Corridor,the paper summerises the protection and development dilemma of traditional villages from vanishing traditional architecture and custom and find the root of the dilemma from interdisciplinary comprehensive study.(3)put forward the protection countermeasures: to come up with traditional village protection development strategy under three mode of ecological agriculture,green industry,and cultural tourism by drawing learning from the successful experience of other traditional village protection development.From the view of “protection feeds development and development benefits protection”,the paper aims at excavating historical and cultural value of traditionalvillages and putting forward protection and development strategy to provide certain reference of traditional villages development in the Hexi Corridor region by combining with the current rapid urbanization.
