The steel plate shear wall is known for its excellent hysteresis performance and ductility,as well as high rigidity and bearing capacity.It is used as a kind of seismic component in high-rise and super-high-rise buildings,but the main factors affecting of the mechanical properties of steel plate shear walls are the strength and rigidity of the edge column.The study found that PEC column has a high lateral stiffness and load capacity,it is introduced into the steel plate shear wall this lateral resistant system,it is preferable to use the restraining member of the built-in steel plate to maximize the seismic performance of the structure.In order to study the mechanical performance of PEC-SPSW structure,three PEC-SPSW Specimens and two steel plate shear walls with ordinary H-shaped steel columns(H-SPSW)specimens of 1/3 scale under the uniaxial and cyclic load was carried out the experimental study,and the experimental results and finite element results are compared and analyzed.The following conclusions are drawn:(1)The experimental results show that the smaller the slenderness ratio of the edge column,The stiffness,bearing capacity and ductility of the specimen are better,it shows that the slenderness ratio of PEC column has a great influence on the mechanical properties of the whole structure.(2)It is found that the PEC-SPSW structure has better lateral stiffness and bearing capacity and ductility than the H-SPSW structure while cross-section and slenderness ratio of edge column is same.(3)In the case of unequal cross-section and unequal slenderness ratio of the edge column,the smaller the slenderness ratio of the edge column,the better the dissipation capacity of PEC-SPSW specimen;While cross-section and slenderness ratio of edge column is same,The PEC-SPSW structure is more dissipation capacity than the H-SPSW structure.(4)Through the stress analysis,it is found that the yield area of built-in steel plate of PEC-SPSW specimen is much larger than the H-SPSW specimen,when the specimen is broken,the PEC column still has bearing capacity,but the ordinary H-shaped steel column has undergone serious damage,it can be seen that PEC-SPSW structure can play a greater degree of plasticity o f built-in steel plate,showing superior performance.(5)Compared with the load-displacement curve,failure mode,skeleton curve,stiffness degradation curve and bearing capacity of finite element analysis results and test results,it is found that the result are close to each other and curve fit degree is better,it is show that ABAQUS software has good reliability for the prediction of the test results and it is feasible to analyze the experimental results with finite element results,and the results of t he comparative study will provide a reference for the later research work.
