The connecting rod,key component of the internal combustion engine, play an important role of the normal work.Connecting rod moved piston reciprocating motion into the rotation of the crank movement, working condition has led to the variations of tension and stress, the adequate structure strength and the anti-fatigue performance is required,so the analysis of movement and loading, the calculation of structure strength and the dynamic characteristics of the connecting rod are of great meaning to the design and optimization of the connecting rod.A type of connecting rod of diesel engine was considered in this thesis.First three dimensional model of the connecting rod bearings, bush, connecting rod, connecting rod were established with three dimension model software PROE.The magnitude of interference and bolt pretension were calculated under assembled working condition.Gas load and inertia load were calculated at the certain condition, the stress distribution and the displacement deformation of the connecting rod under the rated and supreme speed condition were received. The stress does not exceed the yield stress of material.Connecting rod fatigue factor with traditional mechanical method were checked. All parts of the connecting rod, fatigue coefficient were greater than 1.5,in a safe range.Aperture deformation of the bulk under the maximum torque and rated condition were analyzed.Aperture deformation does not exceed maximum allowances,a complete oil film can be built. Then the modal which represented the dynamic characteristics was calculated, the modal vibration mode was received. The height of the connecting rod cap shoulders were lowed, stress distribution before and after the dimensional change were analyzed, the material yield strength within the allowable range.
