The connecting rod is one of the most important structural parts in the diesel engine,During the operation of diesel engine,the main task is to transmit the great driving force of gas explosion to the crankshaft part,which is effective and uninterrupted,To realize the transition from vertical reciprocating motion to rotary motion,and then drive the belt pulley or the gear box connected with it.The working condition of the connecting rod is very complicated,including the alternating force such as the stretching force,the compression force and the bending force.Therefore,the connecting rod should be designed to ensure the structural strength and fatigue strength to meet the complex working conditions in order to achieve stable and lasting power output.In this paper,the diesel engine connecting rod of our company is taken as the research object.Firstly,the kinematics and dynamics principle of the crank link mechanism is analyzed theoretically,and the calculation formulas of the force of the crank link mechanism under the three working conditions of Pretension,tension and compression are deduced.Secondly,the 3D solid model of the connecting rod is established by PRO/E software,The stress distribution of the connecting rod under different conditions is obtained by finite element analysis using software ANSYS Workbench 14.0.The content include the general process of connecting rod model,finite element pre-processing process setting(such as grid division and boundary conditions etc.),and different conditions should be content stress nephogram distribution.At the same time,by the analysis results,the fatigue strength of the connecting rod is checked according to the fatigue strength theory.Finally,using PRO/M software as the dynamics analysis tool,has carried on the modal analysis,the rationality from the perspective of dynamics structure.And compared to the past research about vibration characteristics of a diesel engine,which it was studied by the core teams of my company.Through the study,We obtained the stress concentration region of the connecting rod and the vibration characteristics under different working conditions,this will provide a reference for the optimization design and finite element analysis of diesel engine connecting rod or larger components.
