Geological survey has very important realistic significance for earthquake prediction,mineral exploration,exploration,landslide prevention and evolution of paleontology.The data collection of wild environment is the key link of geological survey,and the slope distance is one of important part of the wild environment data.The current measurement of mountain slope is still based on the original method or laser rangefinder.There is lack of intelligence and precision.In order to overcome the shortcomings of existing slope measurement,a prototype of portable multi-function slope measuring instrument basing on embedded technology is designed in this paper,which provides a new way for mountain slope measurement.This system is designed by modularization idea,which is composed of upper and lower computer units to realize real-time accurate measurement and display of mountain slope distance.When the slope is gently or measuring distance is close to the linear approximation,according to the curve length calculation model the upper machine measured the mountain slope distance.When the slope is a parabolic curve,we can get the slope distance by calculate the arc length.The host computer achieved the main measurement data and real-time displayed by using VS2012 software platform as a development tool.STM32F103ZET6 is the control chip of lower machine,mainly composed of the power supply circuit,industrial-grade infrared telescopes,Bluetooth module,GPS module,electronic compass,angle sensors,display and other modules.The measurement data can be displayed in real time on the LCD screen,and transmitted to the phone through the Bluetooth module,and then transmitted by the phone to the host computer.According to the design requirements of slope distance measuring instrument and the specific technical indicators,a prototype machines was fabricated.The result of laboratory and actual performance test show that,the relevant information of the observation point was collected accurately,the slope distance can be calculated through the fitting algorithm and the location of the observation point was displayed effectively.Therefore,the automatic and accurate measurement mountain slope can be achieved,which improve the measurement portability and intelligence and reduce the measurement error.When measuring a slope with a length of 50 m,the data of five observation points was fitted,the error is 0.135%,which meets the requirements of geological survey and the technical indexes of the system.
