Research On The Traffic Improvement Strategies Of Medical Facilities In Suzhou

Medical facilities are indispensable communal facilities in the urban development and the life of residents.The goodness or badness of traffic environment around medical facilities will directly affect the degree of healthcare satisfaction of residents.People around medical facilities were highly concentrated.The flow of people and traffic were disordered,traffic environment was complex,traffic congestion was serious,and the parking spaces were short.This series of problems became the critical factors that restrict sustainable development of the medical facilities.In that case,the research on the traffic improvement strategies of medical facilities seems to be very pressing.Firstly,this paper summarized domestic and foreign scholars’ related researches to confirm the main research contents.On that base,the domestic and foreign traffic improvement experience was summarized and analyzed.The reference significance to medical facilities in Suzhou was discussed.All these work provided basis for the research on the traffic improvement strategies.Secondly,this paper selected 6 kinds,17 medical facilities as the research objects which included general hospitals with 500 beds above,general hospitals with 500 beds below,medicine hospitals,special hospitals,community hospitals and public health service institutions.Five kinds of investigation methods including traffic generation,traffic mode,traffic facilities,traffic circulation and traffic distribution were conducted.According to the collected data,this paper found the differences in the scales and traffic characteristics between all kinds of medical facilities.All these work provided basis for finding the traffic problems in medical facilities.Next,this paper found that parking difficulties,public transport and its supporting facilities,layout problems,traffic planning and management were the main traffic problems appeared in the medical facilities.The problems of parking difficulties can be attributed to the imbalance between supply and demand of parking facilities.The problems of public transport can be attributed to the unreasonable structure of travel and the irrational arrangement of infrastructures.The layout problems come from prophase planning location and the inappropriate traffic organization.The problems of traffic planning and management can be attributed to the unreasonable planning and design,backward management tools and weak management intensity.Finally,this paper provided some effective strategies from traffic planning management and improvement two angles.For the problems left over by history,the strategies about medical facility location,traffic conditions of surrounding roads,ancillary facility of public transport,the inner and outer layout of medical facilities,traffic organization,and parking supply policies were proposed to improve the traffic environment around medical facilities.For the traffic problems easy to improve,the strategies about optimizations of entrance,traffic organization and facilities,the improvement of parking problems were provided.Then,this paper took Suzhou medicine hospital as an example.The overview,internal and external traffic facilities,traffic characteristics and main existing traffic problems of Suzhou medicine hospital were introduced.The immediate and long-term traffic improvement suggestions were provided.The research results can be used to find the traffic problems and provide guide and reference to make and implement the traffic improvement strategies of medical facilities.
