The flapping wing air vehicle is a new type of vehicle that produces lift and thrust through the movement of flapping wings.It has the advantages of flexibility,flying efficiency and concealment.It has wide application prospects in many areas,and is considered to be the micro air vehicle that has biggest developed space.Based on bionics,this paper studied the flight mechanism,flapping wing flight mechanisms and aerodynamic characteristics of the natural flying organisms.Based on the theory,a flapping wing prototype and hybrid driving prototype was designed,and then the flight test experiment was completed.The main research works are as follows:Firstly,the flight mechanism of flying creatures in nature was analyzed and studied.From the perspective of bionics,we analyzed the wing structure and flapping wing movement of insects,birds and bats,and then analyzed the high lift mechanism of flying creatures in nature.Secondly,the flapping wing driving scheme of the FMAV prototype is designed.Based on the research of the biological flight mechanism,the characteristics of the existing driving mode are analyzed.Based on the driving mode of the micro motor,the flapping mechanism of the flapping wing prototype is designed by using the spatial RSSR mechanism.The mathematical model and kinematics analysis of flapping mechanism were carried out,and we designed the size parameters of the flapping wing mechanism.Kinematics simulation was carried out by using MATLAB and ADAMS software.The results showed that the flapping wing mechanism conforms to the law of flapping wing and has good bionic characteristics.Thirdly,the aerodynamic of flapping wings was studied by numerical simulation.Based on the theory of fluid mechanics and CFD,a 2-dimensional geometric model and mesh model was build according to the characteristics of the flapping motion.The pressure velocity coupling algorithm is used to establish the turbulence viscosity model.Numerical simulation of wing flapping in the velocity and pressure field was did by using dynamic mesh method,and we got the pressure and velocity distribution around wing and characteristics of wing's lift and drag.The result shows that the torsional deformation of wings makes for lift and thrust production.The result is significant to the design of the wings.Finally,we developed and tested the prototype of flapping wing aircraft and the hybrid drive prototype.The structure and 3-dimensional model of the flapping wing prototype and the hybrid driving prototype was designed,and we completed material selection,processing and the assembly of the prototypes.Using the wireless remote control scheme,we built the control system and select electronic devices.Then we test the prototypes.The experiment results show that the prototype of FMAV can generateenough lift and thrust to achieve flight,and the wing of hybrid driving prototype can generate certain lift under two flight modes.
