With the vigorous development of our country's light weight steel portal frame structure,its range of application become more and more widely.Compared with other steel structures,the light weight steel portal frame structure has many advantages,such as light weight,low material consumption,good seismic performance,low cost,convenient construction,energy conservation and environmental protection.It is widely used in the field of global architecture.However,due to the defects of the engineering structure design,construction quality is not up to standard,not built according to original drawing and excessive use,the safe use of the light weight steel portal frame structure has been affected to a certain extent.At this point,it is very important to make detection,identification and reinforcement research on the light weight steel portal frame structure.As a new technology popularized in the field of construction at present,BIM is a significant change for the reinforcement of the light weight steel portal frame structure.With the help of BIM technology,the three-dimensional model of the light weight steel portal frame structure can be built,which can make the coordination and cooperation among the majors,and effectively make up for the shortcomings of the traditional reinforcement methods in the application of the light weight steel portal frame structure.In this paper,the reinforcement and reconstruction of the light steel structure workshop of a gate type steel frame is deeply analyzed and studied in combination with a case of a rigid frame factory building.Based on the whole examination and reliability appraisal of the material characteristics,the structural forming and structure system,defects and damage of structural elements,the structural situation,the load characteristics and level are analysed,finally a strengthening and reforming scheme are proposed in this paper.And the structure system is determined after reforming,the main structural elements are selected.At the same time,the static and dynamic analysis of the structural system after the transformation is also carried out,and on this basis,the bearing capacity and stability calculation of the structural members are calculated.Based on this Light Weight Steel Portal Frame Structure,several strengthening schemes are proposed.All of the strengthening schemes are compared technically andeconomically by considering such factors as the construction method,the site situation,construction period and strengthening result,one rational scheme is selected finally.The strengthening design and construction are implemented successfully.Using the Tekla Structures software in the BIM technology to establish the model and display it in 3D.The application of BIM technology in the reinforcement of the light weight steel portal frame structure is explored and studied.
