The pipe truss structure is widely used in the large-span space structure with the characteristics of simple shape,reasonable force,strong applicability of architectural image and so on.At the same time,with the increasing complexity of the roof structure of the space structure,it is necessary to propose more and more new-type trusses.In addition,tubular joints which is commonly used in the truss structure,but there are some drawbacks.Based on the statistics of a large number of engineering applications,the triangular trusses,trusses,spindle trusses and truss string trusses are summarized,and the force characteristics of the four truss structures are described.Besides,the basic selection principle of the pipe truss structure are generalized.Two new pipe truss structures are proposed.In this paper,first of all,an inverted triangular tube truss is presented,which is based on the material waste caused by the commonly used inverted triangular truss chord.Through the comparison and analysis of structural stress ratio,steel quantity and deflection,the position and the variation range of the chord variable cross-section are determined.Secondly,a new type of truss structure-V-shaped truss is proposed,and its static and dynamic characteristics,stability and anti-continuous collapse performance are analyzed to study the rationality of the structure.A new type of the tubular truss joint is proposed,which are the hollow ball joint of steel pipe truss with truncated chord and the joint of variable cross-section truss plate.The hollow spherical ball joints of steel pipe trusses are compared and analyzed by finite element software,and the value suggestion of the hollow sphere diameter and wall thickness is given.For the cross section truss plate joints,through comparison and analysis with the through chord by finite element software,the diameter and wall thickness of the plate are also given.
