Research On The History Of Tangshan City Construction In Modern Times

Tangshan is a city that has rapidly emerged from resources in the Westernization Movement.Before modern times,Tangshan was only a village dominated by agriculture,handicrafts,and coal mining.As the Kaiping coal mine was built,it quickly emerged as one of the famous heavy industrial cities at that time.In this paper,the situation of modern urban construction in Tangshan from 1876 to 1948 will be sorted out.The characteristics of modern urban construction,the main factors affecting urban development,and the main urban planning ideas will be summarized.At the same time,the importance of region in urban development will be studied.The paper consists of three parts,including seven chapters:The first part is the introduction of this article.It mainly introduces the background,purpose,significance,object,content,method,existing research status,spatial scope of the study and technical line.The second part is the main body of the article,including the second,third,fourth and fifth chapters.This chapter mainly expounds the background of modern urban construction in Tangshan,and puts forward the historical stages of Tangshan's modern urban construction.From the third chapter to the fifth chapter,the article elaborates on the urban planning and construction in three historical periods from the aspects of the main driving forces affecting urban development,urban construction projects,urban construction characteristics,and urban planning interventions.Among them,the third chapter talks about the rise of cities driven by coal mines(1876-1907);the fourth chapter explaines the prosperity of the cities promoted by the Beijing Feng Railway(1907-1935);the fifth chapter introduces one-sided development under the strategy of"Sustaining the war by means of war",the post-war urban construction recession(1935-1948)and the post-earthquake urban construction.The third part of the article contains chapters six and seven.The sixth chapter summarizes the characteristics of urban construction and the main factors influencing the development of the city based on the situation of urban construction in each historical period of Tangshan,and analyzes the impact of modern urban construction on post-earthquake urban construction.The seventh chapter is the conclusion of the article.This paper takes Tangshan,a new emerging industrial and mining city,as the research object,trying to conclude how the region promotes and influences the process of urban construction by sorting out historical documents and provide information for the modern Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region research.This paper also tries to summarize what attempts had been made in the process of Tangshan modern city construction and what positive impact these attempts had on the formation of modern urban planning theory in China.
