The present situation of researches for automotive ergonomic engineering in China and abroad was stated in this essay.Foreign scholars have with the statistical analysis and calculation of multi-rigid-body model test data,the comfortable angle ranges corresponding to different human bodies were summarized by foreign scholars,and had been applied in a variety of CAD/CAE ergonomic simulating modules.Domestically,the theory and method of ergonomic engineering had been highly used into the whole process of automotive design development.However,there were some main problems as follows.Due to the fact that there were different standards,different measuring methods,and independent datatbases established and systemized on account of different softwares for each company in the automobile industry,the ergonomic engineering design was lack of consistency.In addition,it was quite complicated and unefficient if following standards of ergonomic engineering to make a large sum of analysis and data adjustments about the human body layout design.In this project,the CATIA knowledge engineering module function was highly used.All kinds of regulations for instances SAE standard and GB standard were refered and integrated into the developing software in order to build ergonomic parameterization system.According to this,the repetitive processes of design works were simplified and the linkage adjustment of the human model relating to parameter modifications was achieved.Moreover,the ergonomic parameterization system was to improve the efficiency of analysis,avoid human errors made in repeated calculations,popularize in the industry in the future.The significances were: only inputting necessary ergonomic hard-points to achieve the corresponding human models instead of complicated modeling procedures;being able to lead the Consistency of ergonomic design;solidifying relevant modeling program and forming a systematic development mode.Parametric design was an operating method which making a parametric model,using parameters to represent characteristics,introducing constraints to indicate boundary conditions and transferring design knowledge into visual computerized languages.The basic process was as below.Firstly,CATIA-V5 was used to build digital-analogs.Secondly,based on requirement,the knowledge engineering modules were used to define parameters,equations,rules,inspections,design list and configurations one by one.In this essay,the design process was specified by taking the parametric design of the reaching scope and interface of the driver's hand as an example.Meanwhile,there were four aspects,which were human body posture envelope(e.g.,eyellipse,head,body templates,etc.),passenger room(e.g.the front/rear row head,shoulder,elbow,leg room,etc.),visual field(top/bottom angle of view,the A-pillar obstacle angle,instrument reflection,etc.),operating convenience(hand boundary,the front/rear hoods open recommended area,the switch/door layout recommended area,etc.),summarizing and listing the corresponding parameter recommanded values in combination with the SAE standards,and indicating each process of parametric design in detail.In conclusion,the efficiency and quality of works could be improved and ensured with the help of the ergonomic parameterization module.In other words,the disadvantages,for examples plenty of heavy,repetitive,complex works,were largely solved.
