Any design activity is for the ultimate purpose of serving the people.The modern design needs to be in the people-oriented concept.Not only must the designs meet human physiological needs,but also meet the psychological needs.In recently years,the designs and evaluations in terms of cockpit facilities' layout,modeling and color designs are focused on the factors about human physiological needs mainly.And the recent researches take more attention on ergonomics factors such as attainable region,visible range,and fatigue degree and so on,but the psychological and affective factors are always ignored.Actually the psychological and affective factors also make influences on the driving efficiency and the error operating rate.In addition,the researches about color designs are very few,so the psychological and affective factors should be researched as very important parts in the related designs and evaluations.Kansei engineering system is a technique combing sensibility and industrial factors.It is a theory or method of designing and manufacturing products based on human perceptual factors.It is a newly emerging subject based on ergonomics.Kansei engineering is also consistent with the theory of people-oriented as ergonomics.But it is different from ergonomics,because it makes more attention on human psychological factors than ergonomical facors.Users' psychological factors can be considered fully by the method of kansei engineering and ergonomics combined with each other.Hybrid kansei engineering is a bidirectional system including forward kansei engineering and backward kansei engineering.It is suitable for complex designs and evaluations which must consider users' psychological factors as very important parts.Recently,it is still in emerging period.There are a few studies on kansei engineering combined with ergonomics.Hybrid kansei engineering still has not mature theory now.It is an important try that hybird kansei engineering is used in the aircraft cockpit ergonomics designs and evaluations.Not only does it improve the problem of ignoring the affective and perceptual factors in the field of airplane cockpit designs in our country,but also it fills up the deficiencies in hybrid kansei engineering researches.The paper relates theory with practice,from the perspective of engineering application,the methods of cockpit designs and evaluations meeting the physiological and psychological demands are proposed by a new bidirectional hybrid kansei engineering model applied in the airplane cockpit ergonomic designs.The methods of models building are different with the ones of existing hybrid kansei engineering model building and the different uses are mentioned for the plane cockpit interior designs.Nowadays,the existing hybrid kansei engineering models are used in simple products design such as mobile phones and lathes.The existing forward hybrid kansei engineering models in hybrid kansei engineering are only used in design and the existing backward hybrid kansei engineering models in hybrid kansei engineering are only used as the certification of design effects driven by forward kansei engineering models.This uses mentioned below can not satisfy the needs of complex plane cockpit interior designs.According to the special and complex design characteristics of plane cockpit interior designs,the new bidirectional hybrid kansei engineering model is with new uses.The forward hybrid kansei engineering model in hybrid kansei engineering is still only used in designs,but not only is backward hybrid kansei engineering model used as the certifications of design effects driven by forward kansei engineering model,but also the backward kansei engineering model is used in designs too.The backward kansei engineering model in this paper is used to solve the different design problems with the forward one.The new uses can solve the design problems of complex plane cockpit interior design effectively.In addition,the existing bidirectional models in hybrid kansei engineering are also built by the artificial intelligence algorithms.The uncertainties and resistances of human's perceptual features are difficult to be assessed and controlled.This problem is improved in this paper.The mathematics methods of building the hybrid kansei engineering model are different with the existing ones.Researches about ergonomic designs driven by hybrid kansei engineering are done in this paper.Based on the hybrid kansei engineering model and ergonomics models,the layout,shape and color designs of facilities in airplane cockpit are researched.Meanwhile,based on kansei engineering,the ergonomics evaluations of the ergonomic designs driven by hybrid kansei engineering are proposed.The researches are divided in three parts mainly.The first part is focused on the hybrid kansei engineering model and the ergonomic model building.Firstly,the forward kansei engineering model is built by the BP neural network modified by genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization improved by adaptive weight comparing with the basic BP neural network and the basic particle swarm optimization respectively to show the superiority.Secondly,the backward kansei engineering model is built by experts' consults,multiple regression analysis.Lastly,based on the analyses of geometry and dynamics,ergonomic model about driving gestures are built.Based the attainable region,visible range,and analyses of the upper limb activities,the ergonomic constrains are built.The second part is focused on the cockpit ergonomic design methods including layout,modeling and color designs based on the hybrid kansei engineering model.The forward kansei engineering model built by improved BP neural network and improved particle swarm optimization makes the relationships from semantic differential figures to design parts.The backward kansei engineering model built by multiple regression analysis makes the relationships from design parts to semantic differential figures,and the backward kansei engineering model built by specialists' inquired method can test the effect of the forward kansei engineering model.The third part is focused on ergonomic evaluation methods based on kansei engineering.Firstly,based on eye tracker device,the different color schemes are designed,and psychological and cognitive evaluation methods are proposed.Secondly,the ergonomic virtual evaluation model is built by AHP-Fuzzy improved by Delphi sequence.Thirdly,the different positions between chairs and rudder pedals are experimented by electromyographes and cushion pressure testing device,the comfort degrees of sitting positions evaluation are proposed based on root mean square and coefficient of variation.Lastly,the comprehensive evaluation problem of complex cockpit is solved by multiple attribute decision making.In conclusion,a new hybrid kansei engineering model is built as a method of cockpit ergonomic designs and evaluations and to solve the problem of ignoring the psychology factors.It is helpful to form a systemic ergonomic design of complex airplane cockpit's layout,modeling and color.Based on kansei engineering,ergonomics theories and the figures from ergonomics experiments and ergonomics analysis software,the design plans driven by hybrid kansei engineering model are evaluated to be selected for the better.It is helpful for the early designs of the airplane cockpit.The paper bases on the item called ×××××cockpit ergonomics evaluation and improved design from Aviation Industry Corporation of
