According to the theories of ergonomics and human physiology, the idea of parametric design combined, a secondary development is applied to reinforce CATIA V5R19, and the parametric modeling system of car seat is designed in this paper based on the human dimension driven. This system includes:human dimension query module, man-simulator modeling module, man-simulator joint DOF adjusting module and car seat parametric modeling module.Firstly, with reference to the human data of GB10000-88, the human dimension database is established in Access2003; with the help of the software Visual Basic6.0, the communication with Access2003is built; access and query to human dimension database are completed; and the simplification of query process and visualization of the query results are realized. Secondly, with the aid of the software Visual Basic6.0, man-simulator modeling module and posture editing module of CATIA V5R19are redeveloped; man-simulator modeling module and man-simulator adjusting module of joint DOF are designed; quick modeling and flexible adjusting of each joint DOF of the model are realized; the efficiency of modeling is improved, and the process of adjusting is simplified. Finally, through the analysis and optimization of human physiological characteristics, seat comfort, the size of car seat, the comfortable driving posture and the size of driving seat are determined; through the analysis on the rationality and seat comfort between human dimension and seat size, a function between human dimension and the size of car seat is constructed; the human dimension invoked and the method of dimension driven in parametric theory used, the parameters of seat modeling are determined, parametric modeling of the car seat is realized and the modeling period is shortened.In addition, in combination with the results of seat modeling mentioned above, the skeleton of car seat is modeled and simulated in CATIA V5R19; according to the national standard of static strength analysis, the relevant analysis is conducted in HyperMesh9.0. The analysis results indicate that the structure of seat skeleton can meet the requirements of the static strength and ensure the safety of seat structure.Through the development of seat parametric modeling system, the quick modeling of seat is realized, both efficiency and quality of modeling are improved and the period of modeling is shortened. Therefore, a highly efficient means of modeling the car seat is introduced in this paper.
