Upstream Pumping Mechanical seal is a fluid lubricated non-contact mechanical seal.Benefited by its excellent sealing performance,it can realize zero leakage of medium,and completely eliminate environment pollution,Also,the advantages of little wear,low heat,long life,etc.,bring it a broad application prospects at special situations such as high temperature,high pressure,easily vaporized,high-risk and high-polluting and other difficult situations.In recent years it has been widely applied.The seal end surface fluid dynamic grooves which affect upstream pumping mechanical seal performance is a key component,usually tend to have complex geometries,and high machining accuracy and surface quality requirements.Furthermore,in order to improve the dynamic seal`s life,carbide hard metal and carbide-based ceramic material were used to create seal ring production,making its processing more difficult.According to the present status that it would be cost much to manufacture the dynamic grooves,this paper presents a method that combines electrochemical gradient nano-composite plating and mask to manufacture upstream pumping mechanical seal,according to this method,a systematic and in-depth research was carried out and and some innovative research results were achieved.Analysis of Upstream Pumping Mechanical Seal nano material increase in pre-plating bath and the influence of process parameters on the coating growth rate,combined with the hull cell current density preferred conduct experimental and theoretical process by orthogonal method.After the performance of the coating sample processing,including surface morphology,coating adhesion,roughness and adhesion strength were tested,and the solutions to common problems were proposed.By adjusting nano-composite plating process parameters of upstream pumping mechanical seal,the samples under different conditions were processed,and wear resistance tests to determine the specific parameters via the friction coefficient and the wear volume changes of upstream pumping mechanical seal samples.On this basis,the nano-micron silicon carbide particles and silicon carbide particles and wear properties of different ratio of co-deposited sample processing were discussed,and a corresponding theoretical model was also established.The upstream pumping mechanical seal gradient composite plating samples were scanned by SEM and elemental distribution area scan mode,a change in the gradient composite coating hardness was detected.The friction and wear resistance of two different processing methods of sample characteristics were compared,and the determination of the gradient composite coating performance was completed,thus can reducing stress,improving hardness and the impact resistance etc.Upstream pumping mechanical seal face was processed through a combination of photolithographic masking and nano-composite plating,and measured by 3D topography instrument.Upon examination,the upstream pumping mechanical seal sample meet the precision requirements.Finally,the methods of treating wastewater in the test were summarized.The process is an effective solution to the upstream pumping mechanical seal face shallow grooves difficult processing problems,low-cost and efficient processing,is of great theoretical and engineering significance.
