| Staphylea bumalda DC is a rare tree species. It is a very good ornamental plants. This paper did some treatments on Staphylea bumalda plantation forests in Lujiang county, Shitai county and Feixi county of Anhui province. The research including the ornamental characteristics evaluation,pruning and asexual reproduction technology. It provides the foundation for Staphylea bumalda DC of application and promotion in the urban landscape:The main results were as follows:1. According to gray relational analysis, the correlation between 2 geographical provenance and ideal provenance was greater than 0.5. This showed that the vast majority of Staphylea bumalda DC germplasm in Anhui Province had good ornamental value, and the Staphylea bumalda DC in Lujiang County was growing better, which also had the optimum ornamental evaluation index. The Staphylea bumalda DC which was from Lujiang County and Shitai County could have a great effect on landscaping. The Staphylea bumalda DC from Lujiang County have advantage on ornamental color of flower and fruit while The Staphylea bumalda DC of Shitai County have better ornamental of fruit shape.2、After two years’ experimental observation, we found that the pruning of Staphylea bumalda DC was mainly consisted by 4 steps:First, fasten the stem of seedlings, the determine height of stem was better for 30cm~70cm; And then, erasing unwanted sprout timely (mid-March) and periodically (every 15d-20d), and it had to continue until early May; The third step is conducted in early June, doing a "pinch shoot" handling of the branch which growed excessive. The last step was to do stub processing after defoliation in mid-November. Therefore the main pruning procedure of the Staphylea bumalda DC was scheduled by stem fastening, erasing unwanted sprout, pinching shoot, and stubbing. By the observation that, planting seedlings of Staphylea bumalda DC could maintain a certain trunk, and the angle between initiation of the branches and the vertical between 30°~45°, those of which could let the plant form a good shape with certain height and crown and widely used in landscape with different modelings. The cuttings planted Staphylea bumalda DC, however, was difficult to form certain backbone, and the angle between sprouting and vertical direction greater than 60°, those of which made them be suitable materials for landscaping of ground cover.3、The twig breeding of the Staphylea bumalda DC is feasible. The sample eight (treating the light matrix as cutting matrix,200mg/kg NAA deal with the upper branches of leaves for 0.5h) had got the highest rooting rate, up to 89%, the Rooting of survival cuttings reached 23.7 articles, the length of rooting reached 13.7 cm, Those of which made it better for cuttings’survival and proved that the sample 8 was the optimal combination of the experiment. The rooting time of twig cuttings,which required for 40~50d, was shorter than the rooting time of hardwood cuttings, this may related with lignified degree of the cuttings. Type of substrate and hormone concentration had a significant effect on rooting rates of softwood cuttings, but was not obviously related to the types of cuttings. The type of substrate also had a significant influence on rooting effect index of cuttings, but the hormone concentrations and types of cuttings had no significant effect on it. |
