Cistanche deserticola and Cynomorium songaricum is the tonic drugs in traditional Chinese medicine. The drying stem of Cistanche deserticola and Cistanche mongolica are the base source plant of ROUCONGRONG in Chinese Pharmacopoeia, the dry stem without inflorescence of C.songaricum is the base source plant of SUOYANG in Chinese Pharmacopoeia. C.deserticola is the Chinese secondary key protected wild plant(the second), and was listed to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora(CITES) of appendix ?(2003), and C.songaricum has also become a vulnerable species in China. Along with the increasing of market demand and excessive dig, wild resources of this two species in danger of drying up. In order to answer this situation, some measures should beed laker like promote the cultivation of this two species. Even now there are many reports of cultivation of C.deserticola, but C.songaricum has not formed the scale planting, so some related research should been take part in and explore the reason of hard to cultivation of them. This study was been taken of two species of Cistanche(C.deserticola and C.lanzhouensis)and C.songaricum, at the same time we studied the seed germination of R.songarica seed, which is the host plant of C.lanzhouensis. The main conclusions of this study as follows:1.C.deserticola parasite to its host in a single point, the root of host swelled at the parasitic point, and been surrounded by the base of C.deserticola stem, the parasitic form is End parasitic. The result of anatomy showed that the haustorium of C.deserticola invaded into all the xylem and phloem of host plant; After been parasitized by C.deserticola, the root of host plant lost normally function, become a “Transport channel” to supply nutrition for C.deserticola.2. The vegetative propagation buds of C.songaricum grow on the root of host plant one by one and the parasitic form is Non-End parasitic, The result of anatomy showed that the haustorium of C.songaricum invaded into phloem and partial part of xylem of host plant, most area is not been occupied. After been parasitized by C.songaricum, the root of its host plant could grow continuely and have the regularly function, namely a part of nutrition of host root was been "intercepting" by C.songaricum in the process of transport.3. We found C.lanzhouensis exist special "Vegetative Propagate Stem", this is the first time to found it. Vegetative propagation stem have two form of connection with host: End parasitic and Non-end parasitic.4. The Vegetative propagate stem of C.lanzhouensis has two functions: absorb nutrition and vegetative propagation.5. The seed germination rate and growth phenotype of germinated seedlings of R.songarica were inhibited by salt-alkali mixed stresses.
