Evaluation Of Resistance In Different Wheat Cultivars To Crown Rot And Take-all Disease In Henan Province

Crown rot and take-all are very important infection of the stem and root disease of wheat in Henan province,primarily caused by Fusarium pseudograminearum and Gaeumannomyces graminis var.tritici.In recent years,with increased of wheat population and wheat yield,the improvement of water and fertilizer conditions,both the crown rot and take-all disease have become an important limiting factor of high and stable yield of wheat in our province,they are a serious threat about the development of food security in our country.Using resistant cultivars is the measures of disease control wheat most cost effective and environmental protection,therefore evaluation of resistance in different wheat cultivars to crown rot and take-all disease is necessary in Henan Province.In this study,the resistance on wheat crown rot and take-all of 60 cultivars were evaluated in Henan Province.The results showed that:For the crown rot,60 wheat cultivars of crown rot resistance are between 0.02 and0.41 in disease severity,no immune cultivar,5 cultivars(8.3%,including Aiyou 262,Tianmin 008,Yunong 054 and so on)were highly resistance;12 cultivars(20.0%,including Zhengmai 366,Wenliang 1,Aikang 58 and so on)were resistance;15cultivars(25.0%,including Yunong 211,Zhoumai 26,Kaimai 21 and so on)were moderately resistance;15 cultivars(25.0%,including Zhoumai 27,Zhoumai 22,Zhengmai 7698 and so on)were highly susceptible;8 cultivars(13.4%,including49198,Yubao1,Zhoumai 31 and so on)were susceptible;5 cultivars(8.3%,including Zhengmai 99379,Pingxin 1,Hengguan 35 and so on)were highly susceptible.For the take-all,the evaluation criterion includes one main indicator(disease index),60 wheat cultivars about disease index are between 54.0 and 100.0,there is no immunity and highly resistant cultivar,only two cultivars(3.4%,Luomai 4 and Zhengmai 9023)were moderately susceptible;the other 58 cultivars(96.6%)were highly susceptible.From the results,different wheat cultivars are significant differences on crown rot resistance,reaching moderately resistance cultivars accounted for 53.3%,thesecultivars can be tested in the the next step field verification,achieving highly resistant cultivars(Aiyou 262,Tianmin 008,Yunong 054),they can be served as good materials in breeding.But for the take-all,all 60 cultivars of being tested are susceptible,no resistant cultivar,only Luomai 4 and Zhengmai 9023 were moderately susceptible,can also be used in the take-all areas with other chemical control and measures.
