Objective:This experiment investigated the cadmium pollution of their surroundings and fed chickens in mercury mining ? phosphor mining and coal mining in Guizhou province(hereinafter referred to as the three mining areas). The auther had further established the cadmium poisoning model of broiler as experimental animals, then curing experimental chicken cadmium poisoning by improved compound traditional Chinese medicine called Jia Wei Shen Qi Tang from several parts:testing organ coefficient,checking the change of Pathomorphology,detecting the oxidation resistance and immunity,measuring the cadmium content in tissues and organs.The paper researched on the mechanism of its therapeutic effect in order to provide a theoretical basis for clinical treatment of chicken cadmium poisoning by compound traditional Chinese medicine.Methods:1.Adopted the method of ICP-MS to determinate cadmium content in samples.2.Divided the chickens into 3 groups and every group had 30 chickens. The first group was conventional group and chicken in this group had the basic diet. The second group was cadmium poisoning model group and chicken in this group had the basic diet with 40.31mg/kg does of Cd Cl2. The third group was traditional Chinese medicine treating group,which had the basic diet with 40.31mg/kg dose of Cd Cl2 and4.7g/kg of traditional Chinese medicine one day. All the chickens could be bred conventionally in the divided cages according to different groups and could receive food and water ad libitum for a 90 d test period.3.On the 30 th day?60th day?90th day, selected randomly 10 chickens from each group, then weighed ? collected the blood and determinated the MDA ? SOD ?GSH-PX?NO?NOS content and the antibody titer of Newcastle Disease and Avian Influenza in serum. Took the heart?liver?spleen?lung?kidney?thymus?bursa of Fabricius and weighed to calculate their organ coefficient after putting to death, then took parts of heart?liver?spleen?lung?kidney?thymus?bursa of Fabricius?leg bone?leg muscle to detect cadmium content in them, while took parts of heart?liver?spleen?lung?kidney?thymus?bursa of Fabricius?leg bone?small intestine and fixed them in the related fixative to prepare for making slices.4.Adopted the method of ELISA to determinate the related redox indicators' content in samples' serum;adopted the method of HA and HI to determinate the antibody titer of Newcastle Disease and Avian Influenza.5.Pathomorphology of chickens' tissues and organs were observed by HE staining,mast cells were observed by TB staining and counting.Results:1.By investigating three mining areas to understand the cadmium pollution of their surroundings and fed chickens, the results were below:the surroundings and chickens were polluted by cadmium in different degrees.Rice cadmium pollution of mercury mining was the most serious whose cadmium content had reached 2.488mg/?,12.44 times of national limit values. Kidney cadmium pollution in the main tissues and organs of chickens was the most serious. The cadmium content in kidneys in coal mining was 3.233mg/kg, 3.23 times of national limit values.2.Organ coefficient of heart ? liver ? lung ? kidney and other organs in cadmium poisoning model group reached a content of significantly(P<0.05) or obviously(P<0.01) higher than that in conventional group. Organ coefficient of heart?liver?lung?kidney and other organs in traditional Chinese medicine treating group had a content of significantly(P < 0.05) or obviously(P < 0.01) lower than that in cadmium poisoning model group.3.The SOD?GSH-PX?NO?NOS content in serum in cadmium poisoning model group was significantly(P<0.05) or obviously(P<0.01) lower than that in conventional group.The MDA content in serum in cadmium poisoning model group was significantly(P < 0.05) or obviously(P < 0.01) higher than that in conventional group.The SOD ? GSH-PX ? NO ? NOS content in serum in traditional Chinese medicine treating group was significantly(P<0.05) or obviously(P<0.01) higher than that in cadmium poisoning model group.The MDA content in serum in traditional Chinese medicine treating group was significantly(P<0.05) or obviously(P<0.01) lower than that in cadmium poisoning model group.4.The cadmium content in each tissues and organs in cadmium poisoning model group was significantly(P < 0.05) or obviously(P < 0.01) higher than that in conventional group.The cadmium content in each tissues and organs in traditional Chinese medicine treating group was significantly(P<0.05) or obviously(P<0.01)lower than that in cadmium poisoning model group.5.The antibody titer of Newcastle Disease and Avian Influenza in cadmium poisoning model group was significantly(P<0.05) or obviously(P<0.01) lower than that in conventional group;The antibody titer of Newcastle Disease and Avian Influenza in traditional Chinese medicine treating group was significantly(P<0.05) or obviously(P<0.01) higher than that in cadmium poisoning model group.6.Heart?liver?spleen?lung?kidney?thymus?bursa of Fabricius?leg bone in conventional group observed under the microscope by HE staining had no significant pathological changes;those in cadmium poisoning model group appeared obvious pathological changes of inflammation, bleeding;pathological changes of those in traditional Chinese medicine treating group significantly reduced.Master cells' number in liver?small intestine?spleen?thymus?bursa of Fabricius observed under the microscope by TB staining was the least in conventional group;that in cadmium poisoning model group was more;that in traditional Chinese medicine treating group was less.Conclusion:1.Surroundings and feeding chickens of three mining areas existed cadmium pollution.2.Screened out curing chicken cadmium poisoning optimal dose of 4.7g/kg by compound traditional Chinese medicine.3.Compound traditional Chinese medicine could relieve thronic damage cadmium induced to cadmium poisoning chickens' tissues and organs.4.Compound traditional Chinese medicine could improve immunity of cadmium poisoning chickens.5.Compound traditional Chinese medicine could enhance antioxidant capacity of cadmium poisoning chickens.6.Compound traditional Chinese medicine could reduce cadmium content in cadmium poisoning chickens' tissues and organs.
