People pay more attention to the vertical greening because of the issues about the speeding up process of urbanization, air pollution, urban public green land constraints. The study uses industrial design engineering theory as a guide, combined with the actual city residential green design project and inspired by the law of revelation plant growth getting the ideas of the plant leaf transpiration pull phenomenon and principle methods.A green area to be selected by the transformation of the residential area within the study, conducted interviews for district residents demand for public green facilities within the district conducted research and found that the cell occupants expectations of the target public green products, analysis and research existing forms of urban greening defects, using a foliar transpiration pull the cell as a vertical green design core technology, from the perspective of promoting ecological development of urban greening, vertical greening proposed smart irrigation product design methods to promote community greening environmental improvement. In order to promote the spread of plant health and to popularize the knowledge and dissemination, and to increase interactivity between man and plants in the vertical greening by APP mobile terminal technology and two-dimensional code, meeting the needs of recognize plants, understanding of plant, plant propagation to residents. The study has completed a leaf transpiration pull principle experiment, the siphon principle experiment, smart irrigation products integrated application experiments, based on Arduino open source resources as a technology platform and mechatronics technology environment, humidity sensors and other components which vertical greening smart irrigation products for a prototype test for the physical carrier, designed to achieve the goal of providing support for the theory and techniques. In particular implementation of project, the realization of the whole process of design research and design concepts in product design and application of procedures and methods, interaction design technology are applied, hoping to design a vertical green smart irrigation products to improve urban local air quality and improving air freshness, improve and enrich the daily lives of area residents.
