The objective of the study was to investigate the effects of tea dust and Chinese herbal medicine on growth performance and muscle quality of pigs.72 healthy cross-breeding finishing pigs(Durocx(Landrace×LargeWhite))were randomly divided into 4 groups(with divided male and female),3 replicates in each group and 6 pigs per replicate. The control group I fed basal diet, the experimental group II added 1%tea dust,1%oleracea and 0.1% hawthorn, the experimental group III added 1%tea dust, the experimental group IV added 1%oleracea and 0.1%hawthorn for 30 days. The results show that:1. Adding tea dust and Chinese herbal medicine can improve the growth performance of finishing pigs.Compared with the control group, the daily weight gain of the experimental group were increased by 7.41%(P< 0.01),4.94%(P< 0.05),2.47%(P>0.05); the average daily feed intake were increased by 4.62%(P<0.05),3.19%(P<0.05),0.40%(P>0.05); feed conversion was lower than that of 1.94%,0.97%,2.16%(P>0.05) respectively.2. Adding tea dust and Chinese herbal medicine can improve immue function of finishing pigs.Compared with the control group, the concentrationof IgA was increased by 12.27%(P<0.05),7.81%(P>0.05),2-23%(P>0.05); concentration of IgG was increased by5.43%(P>0.05),3.85%(P>0.05),1.05%(P>0.05); concentration of IgM was increased by 3.60%(P>0.05),1.80%(P>0.05),1.20%(P>0.05). The concentration of C3 was raised by 8.57%(P>0.05),11.42%(P>0.05),5.71%(P>0.05); concentration of C4 was raised by 40.00%(P>0.05),33-33%(P>0.05),13.33%(P>0.05), Complement showed no significant difference. The concentration of FT3 was increase by 6.47%(P<0.05),3.48%(P>0.05)? 3.48%(P>0.05); concentration of FT4 was increase by 3.57%(P<0.05)?1.42%(P>0.05)? 2.14%(P>0.05)3.Adding tea dust and Chinese herbal medicine can reduce the diarrhea rate of finishing pigs.Compared with the control group, the diarrhea rate of the experimental group was reduced by 76.67%(P<0.01),18.33%(P>0.05),82.38%(P<0.01) respectively.4.Adding tea dust and Chinese herbal medicine can improve the muscle quality of finishing pigs.Compared with the control group, the pH increased 9.52%(P<0.01),9.16%(P<0.01), 1.26%(P>0.05),color L were increased by 7.80%(P<0.01),6.31%(P<0.01),2.45%(P>0.05); marbling scores were increased by 30.57%(P<0.01),30.57%(P<0.01),15.21%(P>0.05); the drip loss rate were reduced by 8.07%(P<0.05),5.14%(P>0.05),4.09%(P>0.05); the water loss rate were significantly different(P<.01); intramuscular fat were increased 34.94%(P<0.05) and 29.72%(P<0.05) and 18.88%(P>0.05); the pork cholesterol content were decreased by 60.55%(P<0.01),60.20%(P< 0.01),2.67%(P>0.05); in the flesh a, and b,the differences were not significant (P>0.05).
