Sitobion avenae is one of the dominant aphid species of wheat varieties,which has the characteristics of wide distribution,high fecundity,short mean generation period,heavy damage.S.avenae has an important influence on the yield and quality of wheat in China.Wheat varieties resistance of S.avenae is an important ecological factor that affects the population dynamics.Selection and use of resistant variety is one of the basic measures for the comprehensive treatment of S.avenae,which is consistent with the requirement of sustainable development of agriculture.The population parameters of S.avenae on different wheat cultivars at seeding stage and 5 consecutive generations were analyzed using the age-stage,two-sex life table.In addition,we compared the effects of different wheat varieties on development and reproduction of winged and wingless morph of S.avenae,aiming at providing theoretical basis for studying the mechanism of wheat resistance to aphids and breeding of aphids.The main results obtained in this study are as follows:1.There were some differences in the developmental duration,fecundity and population parameters of different wheat varieties.Nymphs duration was the longest on Ji 5265 except 1st instar and the shortest on Taishan 455 except 4th instar.In the 10 wheat varieties,the adult duration was in the stage of 9.72~22.47 d.Total longevity was the longest on Taishan 455(28.46 d),while shortest on Taishan 4497(16.07 d).The adult preoviposition period(APOP)and total preoviposition period(TPOP)was the shortest on Taishan 455 and the longest on Ji5265.The oviposition-days and fecundity were higher on Taishan 455,and there were significant differences between the other wheat varieties.When S.avenae were fed on Taishan455,the intrinsic rate of increase(r)and finite rate of increase(?)were significant highest between the other wheat varieties,while lowest on Ji 5265.The net reproduction rate(R0)of10 wheat cultivars from large to small in turn to Taishan 455,Jimai 22,Taishan 28,Taishan651,Taishan 5496,Taishan 27,09J23,Shannnong 29,Ji 5265 and Taishan 4497.Studies have shown that Ji 5265 and Taishan 4497 had higher resistance,Taishan 455 and Jimai 22 had lower resistance,the rest of the wheat varieties are mostly in the middle level.2.On Jimai 22,the winged morph was shorter than wingless morph on 1st instar and 2nd instar,while longer than wingless morph on 3rd instar and 4th instar.The winged morph wassignificant longer than wingless morph on adult duration.On Shannong 29,the winged morph were longer than wingless morph on nymphs duration and adult duration except 1st instar.On two varieties,the winged morph was longer than wingless morph on preoviposition period,while the oviposition-days and fecundity were significant shorter than wingless morph.There were 31.25% and 37.50% in the proportion of winged morph on Jimai 22 and Shannong 29.The winged morph on Shannong 29 was longer than Jimai 22 on nymphs duration except 1st instar,while significant shorter than Jimai 22.Wingless morph on Shannong 29 were longer on nymphs duration and significant shorter on adult duration than Jimai 22.Whether the winged morph and the wingless morph,the adult preoviposition period on Shannong 29 was longer than Jimai 22,while oviposition-days and fecundity were lower than Jimai 22.3.We compared the differences of S.avenae between 5 populations on Shannong 29.F2,F3 and F4 had no significant differences on nymphs duration except 1st instar,while F5 was longest on 2nd instar and 3rd instar.There were no significant differences of F2,F3 and F4 adult duration,but it was significantly higher than that of F1 and F5.Total longevity was the longest on F2(24.59 d),while shortest on F5(20.21 d).F1 was significantly higher than that of F3,F4 and F5,and there was no significant differences between and F2.There was no significant differences between the 5 generations in total preoviposition period;The oviposition-days of F4(11.23 d)was significant longer than F1 and F5.Fecundity was no significant differences between the F2,F3 and F4,but it was significantly higher than that of F1 and F5,and the F5 generation was the lowest,which was 15.06 nymph/individual.When S.avenae were fed on F5,the intrinsic rate of increase(r)and finite rate of increase(?)were significant lowest between F2,F3 and F4.The net reproduction rate(R0)was highest on F2(19.99 offspring/individual),which was significant higher than F1 and F5,and F5(11.74offspring/individual)was the lowest.The mean generation period(T)was longest on F4(15.00 d),which was significantly higher than that of F1,but there was no significant differences between the other generations.Effect of S.avenae population mainly began from F5 generation on Shannong29.
