Kiwifruit is a dioecious fruit tree,they must be configured on pollination tree or hand-pollinated in the production in order to normal results.The advantages and disadvantages of pollinating male strains can not be manifested through their own,and they can be reflected through the pollen Xenia effect.In the production,if the improper selection of pollinated male plants,or the choice of pollen is not appropriate,it will cause fruit pollination fertilization poor,fruit smaller,poor quality and so on.Therefore,the study of pollen Xenia effect has a certain theoretical and guiding significance for the male selection,fruit yield and quality improvement.In this study,‘Qihong' was used as experimental female material,and then with 9 kinds of male plants to pollinate,in order to discuss pollen Xenia effect.The 9 pollinated male strains were commodity pollen(CK),Actinidia chinensis staminate strain ‘HX-2',‘JT-X',‘JY-X',‘H-X',‘M-4',Actinidia melanandra Franch ‘HR-X',Actinidia ‘M-X',and Actinidia arguta ‘R-X'.The study of pollen Xenia effect,so that select the proper male plant for the ‘Qihong',fruit yield and quality improvement.The main results are as following:1.From the pollen vitality of the colored rate,it can be found that the pollen and pollen viability of different species(breeds)were not very different,but all met the requirements of pollination test.This suggested that the strength of pollen vitality may be affected by the individual genotype of the male parent,and may also be related to the surrounding environment.2.The results showed that different male parents had significant effect on the fruit setting rate of the fruit,and showed obvious pollen Xenia effect.The fruit setting rate of fruit after the different varieties male parents pollination was different,such as ‘HX-2' fruit pollination rate reached 97%,and ‘JY-X' pollination was only 69%,the difference between the two reach 28%;in addition,the difference of different species pollen's pollination was obvious,after the pollination of ‘R-X',‘HR-X' and ‘M-X',the fruit setting rate respectively was 84%,44%,and 25%.It can be seen that the closer kinship,the higher the fruit setting rate;the kinship is far and the fruit setting rate is low.3.In terms of fruit quality,different pollinated male plants had different effects on the external and intrinsic quality of ‘Qihong' kiwifruit,and it showed obvious pollen Xenia effect,but did not show pollen Xenia effect on fruit shape index.In fruit weight,the fruit weight of pollen pollinated by ‘JT-X' was significant higher than that of other pollination combinations,and it was reached 83.37g;in terms of hardness,that is,the storage of ‘M-4' and control was better;in the fruit flavor,‘HX-2' and ‘R-X' pollen performed better,after pollinated the fruit of the soluble solids content was higher,lower acid content,and solid acid ratio was relatively large,in addition,vitamin C content was high,the fruit has the rich flavor,sweet taste.Therefore,in the male strains of the matching,you can choose according to the needs.4.The effects of different male plants on the color of fruit after pollination of ‘Qihong' kiwifruit were significant,showing obvious pollen Xenia effect.Among them,the pollen of ‘HX-2' and ‘R-X' were significantly higher in the grape color grading and anthocyanin content.As result,in terms of flesh color,the pollen of ‘HX-2' and ‘R-X' was a better chice.5.The fruit by different pollen pollinated,it was showed obvious pollen Xenia effect in aspect of seed,mainly reflected in the black seed percentage,thousand of grain weight and seed number.It should be noted that the fruit after commodity pollen pollination was significantly worse in this 3 indicators,indicating that the development of the seed was poor,which will affect the fruit yield and quality.In addition,it was found that there was a positive correlation between seed number and fruit weight.Through the comprehensive analysis of the ‘Qihong' kiwifruit pollen Xenia effect,it was found that the same male had different effects on different traits,besides,the effect of different male plants on the same traits was different.In the aspect of fruit setting,the male plants of 'HX-2' and 'R-X' should be selected;the fruit weight of 'JT-X' after pollination was significantly higher than that of other pollination combinations;in terms of hardness,'M-4' And the control pollination was better;in the fruit flavor,the pollen of 'HX-2' and 'R-X' was better;the pollen of 'HX-2' and 'R-X' in Color grading and anthocyanin content was significantly higher.In general,‘HX-2' and ‘R-X' were the better male plants for the fruit quality of ‘Qihong'.So in the production,it can be also according to the actual needs of different matching male strains.
