Rice is one of the major food crops in China with the production exceeding one third of total grain production.Ratoon rice is a kind of rice cultivars which can adopt the unique cultivation and management measures,which can realize the "seeding once and harvesting twice ",which has the advantages of making full use of the light and water resources.The first season of rice harvest when the stem and grain with high moisture content,mechanized harvest loss,high power consumption,easy to block the cylinder.In order to solve the problem of threshing for ratoon rice,a small horizontal-axial threshing and separating device was designed,according to the agronomic requirements and material properties of ratoon rice,which could meet the threshing requirements of the first season ratoon rice and common rice.The threshing performance and power consumption of the bench test,analysis of test data,proposed optimization and improvement measures.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)The characteristics of rice material were studied,and the rice variety was "Huang Huazhan".Relationship between cross-sectional area of the straw and its maximum bending force and destructive limit was analyzed.The plant height,natural height,ear length and ear tip ground height were measured.(2)Based on material characteristics of ratoon rice,a small horizontal-axial threshing and separating device with rigid pole teeth were design and its feeding quantity was 0.8 kg/s.By analyzing the comparisons of different forms and structural principle,the structure and motion parameters were determined.To test its working performance and power consumption,a test platform for threshing cylinder was established.(3)Cylinder rotation speed was selected as influencing factor for single factor experiment.The results showed that unthreshed rate of "Huang Huazhan" "Zhong Xiang1" "Wan Jing 22" was decreased,the impurity content declined with the increasing speed of cylinder.It turned out that different varieties and material had influence on threshing performance,but it was not significant.Threshing cylinder had a good adaptability in different varieties with the cylinder rotation speed of 800 r/min~1200 r/min.(4)The material was late rice “Wan Xian 98”,and the experimental results showed this device could reach the grain unthreshed rate of 0.097%,the entrainment lost rate of0.98%,the impurity content of 31.17%,when the cylinder rotation speed was set to 1100r/min,the threshing clearance was 40 mm,the guide plate lead angle was 15° and thefeeding quantity was 0.8 kg/s.This threshing and separating device could satisfy the requirements for the harvest of yield ratoon rice.(5)“Wan Xian 98” was selected as experimental material for single factor experiment of feeding quantity.The results showed that with the increasing of feeding quantity,the torque and power consumption increased significantly.The average power consumption of 4.51 kW,average torque of 52.50N·m,when the feeding quantity was 0.8kg/s.Threshing process is quite complex,the instantaneous value of power consumption fluctuates greatly above and above the average value,and the instantaneous maximum power consumption is even higher than the average value of 25%.(6)“Wan Jing 22” was chosed as the material and conducted experiment with the method of a ternary quadratic regression orthogonal rotation combination design test.Cylinder rotation speed,guide plate lead angle and cylinder clearance were selected as main factors.Unthreshed rate and power consumption were main indexes in this experiment.The results showed that the influence of cylinder rotation speed on unthreshed rate was greater than guide plate lead angle,cylinder rotation speed was the main influencing factors on power consumption,and the influence of cylinder clearance on power consumption was greater than guide plate lead angle.The threshing performance will be the best with the cylinder rotation speed of 1139 r/min,the guide plate lead angle of 10°,the cylinder clearance of 33 mm,which could reach the unthreshed rate of 0.034% and the power consumption of 4.86 kW.Study on threshing cylinder for ratoon rice provided a basis for the design and structure optimization of higher feeding quantity and lower power consumption threshing cylinder.
