With the factory production of nursery substrate development,cultivation medium also gradually get more and more attention.Vermicompost is the faeces ofearthwormand it is characterized by its good cluster structure,porosity,and a plenty of benefits for microorganisms.In addition,the vermicompost can promote crop growth and improve fruit quality.Retaining agent is a kind of ultra-high molecular polymer which has the ability to absorb water,and then slowly release water for plant absorption and growth.With the application of retaining agent,it would reduce the water evaporation,erosion and improve the utilization of water and fertilizer.Therefore,it can solve the problem of poor water retention in the non soil culture.Microbial fertilizer is a kind of special manufactured products containing living microorganisms,which can promote the plant growth and quality,stimulate the microbial community and decrease the diseases and insect pests et al.In this study,A bag cultivation was conducted to investigate the effects of the different substracts on the muskmelon growth and selected the special one.The substract was compounded with vermicompost,cattle manure,peat,perlite and vermiculite,in which,the peat was replaced by vermicompost and cattle manure with the proportion of 25%,50%,75%and 100%.According to the results,it could be found that vermicompost and cattle manure in all different proportions could enhance the muskmelon growth and stimulate the contents of soluble solids,sugar and vitamin C.Besides,the vermiculite had the more simulative effects on the muskmelon than cattle manure.Compared with the substracts,the treatment with 75%vermiculite instead of cattle manure had the best effects.The soluble solids content of muskmelon in this treatment was 38.3%and 27.8%higher than it in CK and the treatments VII(the peat was replaced by vermicompost with the proportion of 75%).The muskmelon growth and quality were enhanced and then kept stable with the ratio of vermicompost and cattle manure increased.However,the muskmelon growth and quality had a little decrease when the vermiculite completely replaced the cattle manure.Whether or not adding water-retaining agent,probiotics can increase the melon stem length,stem diameter and content of muskmelon soluble solids,sugar and soluble protein.The treatments adding Fluorescent pseudomonas(Y1)or Fluorescent pseudomonas + water retaining agent(Y1 + B)had the best effect and the following ones is the treatments with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens(X1)and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens +water retaining agent(X1+B).The Bacillus megaterium(X15)or Bacillus megaterium+water retaining agent(X15+ B)had the inconspicuous effect on crop growth.Thus,the application of Fluorescent pseudomonas or Fluorescent pseudomonas+ aquasorb with vermicompost substrate can be suggested as a new type of culture substrate forthe deeply study.Application of water retaining agent in substrate experiments show that the water retaining agent adding in flowering and harvest period can significantly improve the vermicompost substrate water content.Compared with CK,the water content in CK+B was higher 29.2%and 34.6%in the two periods,respectively.So the water retaining agent can improve the water holding capacity of the substrate,reduce the water evaporation and increase the utilization rate of the water.The water content of CK + B treatment can significantly improve the stem diameter and stem length,stem diameter which reached a significant level compared with CK treatment.Compared with CK,in the term of melon quality,CK + B treatment has a certain role in promoting,but not yet reached significant levels.In conclusion,it can be as a new culture substrate for deeply study or extend for the substract adding Fluorescent pseudomonas(Y1)or Fluorescent pseudomonas +water retaining agent.
