The Application Study Of Ornamental Grass In The Design Of Xi'an Kaiyuan Garden

With the rapid development of china's economy,the shortage of land resources is becoming an increasing significant problem because underground remains have made greater restrictions and obstacles forthe urban development of the historical and cultural cities.For example,idle areas ? low utilization rate of the land,unreasonable infrastructure surrounding the cultural relics and abominable urban environment.In these circumstances,people began to seek how to make effective utility of cultural relics protection sites and their surrounding land,and integrate them into the urban development without destroying the relics,thus promoting the development of urban economy.Building public green land on cultural relics protection sites can not only increase the utilization rate to comply with the economic development requirement,but also will beautify the urban landscape and improve the human settlement environment.Undoubtedly it is an ideal choice for making use of cultural relic's protection sites.Therefore,it is an urgent need to explore what kind of plants planted in the garden will not destroy the underground remains.With its excellent biological characteristics and ecological habits,ornamental grasses can perfectly meet the requirement of protecting cultural relics.However,due to short application period and small application scope,there are insufficient researches on the promotion and planting design of ornamental grasses.This paper takes Kaiyuan park as example,which is a part of the planning and construction project of Xue Jia Zhai Han Tombs protected territory,located in the weiyang district of Xi'an city.In this study,we conducted a field research on the surrounding area of Xi'an city.Based on the interviews of planting workers,we made thorough observation,recording,evaluation and analysis on the biological characteristics,ornamental characteristics,ecological habits and planting density of ornamental grass.Combining the data and literature of garden plant design,herbs and ornamental grass and the case study,the application status of ornamental grasses was analyzed.Combined with the green design scheme of Kaiyuan park,we explored the planting design method of ornamental grass to select ornamental grass varieties suitable for being planted in Kaiyuan park and Xi'an.Besides,we analyzed the main application principle of ornamental grass in the planting design of Kaiyuan park in Xi'an city and put forward the specific application strategy.This paper has reference value and guiding significance for the solution of the urban development contradiction caused by the restrictions on the protection of cultural relics and economic development of historical and cultural cities.It can also be referred in the promotion of suitable ornamental grass planted in Xi'an and the planting design of ornamental grass in other special fields.
