Chinese herbal medicines as a new immunostimulants, which has many advantage such as, natural, versatility, low residue, rich resources. It has become one source of immunostimulants in fish and other aquatic animals. Chinese herbal medicine as feed additive can play a better role in regulating water quality, promote growth, improve immune system and regulates the intestinal flora. In our laboratory, we filtered a variety of Chinese herbal medicines, finding that the extracts of phellodendron(Phellodendron amurense Rupr.) could antagonize the Streptococcus agalactiae of tilapia. Therefore, this study we used the extracts of Phellodendron as the research object, the phellodendron extract were designed to in accordance with 0.5% (H1), 1.0% (H2) and 1.5% (H3) for feeding tilapia, and compare with the antibiotics and probiotics, studies on the tilapia's growth, immunity and resistance of pathogenic to provide a reliable scientific basis for the sustainable development of tilapia aquaculture. In this study we used the extracts of Phellodendron for feeding tilapia, and compare with the antibiotics and probiotics, studies on the tilapia's growth, immunity and resistance of pathogenic.By measuring the phellodendron, Bacillus subtilis and sulfadiazine on growth performance of Tilapia, the results show that: in the first and second week, the PWG, PLG and liver index has a good effect after diet fed with sulfadiazine and Bacillus subtilis HAINUP40 on tilapia. After feeding in a short time sulfadiazine and Bacillus subtilis can significantly improve the growth performance in Tilapia. With the extension of time for feeding,in the fourth and the eighth weeks, the effect of group SAs and group HAINUP40 were decreased for the PWG, PLG and liver in Tilapia, and these effects were lower than phellodendron. In the eighth week, the PWG,PLG and SGR is significantly higher than the control group after diet fed with 0.5% phellodendron(P<0.05). With the extension of time for feeding, the effect of phellodendron were increased, phellodendron could significantly improve the grow performance in Tilapia.By measuring the phellodendron, Bacillus subtilis and sulfadiazine on nonspecific immune in tilapia, the results show that: diet fed with sulfadiazine in tilapia feed had an obvious effcet in serum CAT in tilapia, after feeding with 8 weeks the serum CAT was significantly higher than other experimental groups (P<0.05); diet fed with Bacillus subtilis HAINUP40 can significantly improved on serum LZM in tilapia, after feeding with 8 weeks the serum LZM was significantly higher than other experimental groups (P<0.05);Diet fed with sulfadiazine and Bacillus subtilis HAINUP40 could effectively improve the serum T-AOC, ACH50 and cellular respiratory burst activity increased in tilapia. With the extension of time for feeding, in the eighth week, the serum LZM and ACH50 of group H2 and H3 showed significant increase (P<0.05), the serum SOD, ACH50 and respiratory burst activity were significantly higher than other experimental groups (P<0.05). The infection results of streptococcus agalactiae show that: in the first week, diet fed with sulfadiazine and Bacillus subtilis could effectively reduce the mortality in Tilapia, after fed with 2, 3,4,and 8 weeks respectively, the phellodendron, Bacillus subtilis and sulfadiazine could significantly reduce mortality in Tilapia. It showed that phellodendron, Bacillus subtilis and sulfadiazine could reduce the mortality, they play a role in protection of Tilapia. To sum up, the phellodendron, Bacillus subtilis and sulfadiazine could greatly improved the grow performance, non-specific immunity and resistance the infection of streptococcus agalactiae. The phellodendron and Bacillus subtilis HAINUP40 is an effective immunity enhancer, they had a good prospect for application as feed additives in tilapia, it provided data and theory for tilapia. This study provide a reference for the use of antibiotics, probiotics and Chinese herbs in aquaculture of tilapia.
