In this study,using the roof greening in Hangzhou City,Zhejiang Province as the research area,an investigation was launched into the ecological benefits of roof greening,and then based on the ecological benefits,a research on the plant allocation of roof greening was carried out.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Based on the investigation of roof greening in Hangzhou,it is concluded that the construction with roof greening can reduce the scouring of rainwater,improve the microenvironment of buildings and make it more suitable for human life.Meantime,it can greatly reduce the outward displacement of buildings and relieve the urban heat island effect.According to the effect of different plant allocation on the microenvironment,the types of roof garden were ranked: intensive roof greening> semi-intensive roof greening> expanding roof greening.(2)The monitoring canopy rainwater interception of representative vegetation of roof greening in the study area was carried out.As result,the canopy rainwater interception of tangerine and sweet osmanthus were the highest,while purple-leaf plum and crape myrtle were the lowest.It’s indicated that fewer stems and leaves were adverse to rainwater interception,while leathery leaves and thick foliage were be beneficial to rainwater interception.(3)Based on the research on the hydrological function of the soil layer in the study area,the soil bulk density of trees,shrubs and grass mixed ground was the lowest,which had better soil water holding capacity.(4)Based on the investigation and analysis of the type of roof greening,it’s concluded that extended roof greening was usually used for buildings with small bearing capacity,hence it’s suitable for the old urban reconstruction,which mainly grew low-grade herbs.Semi-intensive roof greening was suitable for buildings with high bearing capacity,usually growing regular plantings,which can be configured with low shrubs,and path,benches,etc.,that can provide touring and rest space,also can be set up.Dense roof greening was suitable for commercial or hotel building,which have large bearing capacity and large amount of plants,and can adopt multi-layer plant allocation being combined with trees,shrubs and grass.It’s a natural landscape garden park miniature,which not only can change themicro-environment,but also are beneficial to the retention of rain and landscape.This plant configuration approach is to pay attention to ecological functions at the same time the plant’s landscape features all play out,the perfect combination of ecology and art.
