The study on the effectiveness of light trapping,one of the important physical control techniques for the comprehensive management of pest,is of great significance on the accurate and efficient lure and protection of natural enemy insects,because the choices of wave length vary in different kinds of insects and the types of insecticidal spectrum differ in the length of the single wave of the different types of trap lamps.This paper investigated the effectiveness of 5 types of LED pest killing lamps with different wave length on the lure and killing of insects in maize field and compared the filed efficacy of the several types of pesticides on grub and wireworm.The main conclusions are as follows.1.LED single wave trap lamp could lure and kill the insects in maize field efficiently.The kinds of the different insects killed by different types of trap lamps were not so significant,while the quantity of the insects was remarkable.The 405nm and 401mn trap lamps was of the highest effect,which killed 10574 and 10121 insects respectively.Then,the 411nm and 395 nm lamps followed,which killed 9205 and 9186 insects respectively.The 407nm trap lamps placed the last,which killed 2954 insects only.2.The efficiency of the LED trap lamps on the lure and kill of different groups of the insects differs in wave length.The 401nm and 395 nm trap lamps achieved the best lure and kill effect on Lepidoptera.The 405 nm lamp had the best effect on Coleoptera and Hemiptera.Besides the pest,LED trap lamp could also lure and kill neutral and natural enemy insects,among which 401 nm and 405 nm trap lamps killed the most.From the good-harm ratio of the traps between pests and insects,405 mn trap lamp had the highest overall efficiency.3.The effect that trap lamps with different wave length killed peach pyralid moth and scarab varies.For peach pyralid moth,401 nm trap lamp lured and killed the most,with the quantity of 222.Then,395 nm and 405 nm trap lamps followed,with the quantity of 115 and 101 respectively.411nm and 407 nm trap lamps killed the least,with the quantity of 65 and 36 respectively.For scarab,405 nm trap lamps lured and killed the most,with the quantity of 398.Then 401 nm and 395 nm trap lamps followed,with the quantity of 300 and 256 respectively.Again,411 nm trap lamps had the least effect on lure and killing,with the quantity of 135.In practice,401 nm and 405 nm single trap lamps could be chosen in the peak period of the occurrence of peach pyralid moth and scarab for the pest control.4.For the controlling of grub,600g/L imidacloprid suspension seed coating agent,10%cyhalothrin suspension seed coating agent and 10%carbofuran suspension seed coating agent could be applied.The field control effect reached 79.22-82.41%before the final singling and 84.78-86.96%after the final singling;the insecticide effects were 78.95-84.84%and 84.78-86.96%under the same time points.5.For the controlling of wireworm,600g/L imidacloprid suspension seed coating agent and 5%fipronil suspension seed coat agent could be applied together.The field control effect were 78.33-84.24%15 days before the drug administration and 82.93-90.24%35 days after the administration;the insecticide effects were 71.74-80.43%and 88.57-94.29%respectively under the same chronological points.
