In this study, four typical desert plants,Caragana microphylla,Scoparium,Nitraria sphaerocarpa Maxim and Reaumuria soongorica seeds were selected as the research object, and Chitosan,Water-retaining agent,Gibberellin,Naphthaleneacetic acid,Indoleacetic acid,Carbendazim,Cypermethrin and Avermectin as a test material, the effects of different components of seed coating agent on seed germination rate, germination potential, average germination rate and seed bud index were studied. The best concentration of seed coating agent was selected when it was processed separately,so as to determine the composition and dosage of seed coating. The main results are as follows:(1)Different concentrations of Chitosan were used to treat Caragana microphylla,Scoparium,Nitraria sphaerocarpa Maxim and Reaumuria soongorica seeds. The results showed that the concentration of Chitosan, species and the interaction of them had a extremely significant effect on seed germination index, including germination rate, germination potential, average germination rate, seed bud index.Different concentrations of Chitosan had a significant effect on seed germination index, with dreasing germination index of Caragana microphylla,Scoparium Reaumuria soongorica decreased by the increase of Chitosan concentration. The optimum concentration of Chitosan was 0.1%.While the seed germination index of Nitraria sphaerocarpa Maxim increased and then decreased with the increase of Chitosan concentration, along with the optimum concentration in0.2%.(2)Different amounts of Water-retaining agent were used to treat Caragana microphylla,Scoparium,Nitraria sphaerocarpa Maxim and Reaumuria soongorica seeds. The study found that species had extremely significant effects on the seed germination index. The amount of Water-retaining agent had a significant effect on the germination rate and germination potential, whilst an extremely significant effect on the average germination rate and seed bud index. The interaction of the amount of water-retaining agent and species had no significant effect on the seed germination index. The effects of different amounts of Water-retaining agent on the germinationindex of Caragana microphylla,Nitraria sphaerocarpa Maxim and Reaumuria soongorica seeds were significant. The germination index of Caragana microphylla seeds decreased with the increase of the amount of Water-retaining agent. When the Water-retaining agent was 1%,the seed germination index reached the maximum value.Scoparium,Nitraria sphaerocarpa Maxim and Reaumuria soongorica seeds showed the trend of increasing first and then decreasing with the increase of the amount of water-retaining agent. When the amount of Water-retaining agent was 4%of the seed weight, the seed germination index reached its maximum value.(3)Comparing the different concentrations of Gibberellin treatment of Caragana microphylla,Scoparium,Nitraria sphaerocarpa Maxim and Reaumuria soongorica seeds, the study found that species and the interaction of species with Gibberellin concentration had a significant effect on seed germination index. The Gibberellin concentration had a significant effect on the seed germination index. The germination index of Caragana microphylla,Scoparium,Nitraria sphaerocarpa Maxim and Reaumuria soongorica seeds increased first and then decreased with the increase of Gibberellin concentration. The optimum concentration of Gibberellin in the germination of Caragana microphylla,Reaumuria soongorica seeds was 200mg/L,while the optimum Gibberellin concentration of Nitraria sphaerocarpa Maxim seeds was 400mg/L.The germination index of Scoparium seeds increased with the increase of Gibberellin. The optimum Gibberellin concentration of Scoparium seeds was800mg/L.Comparing the different concentrations of Naphthaleneacetic acid treated Caragana microphylla,Scoparium,Nitraria sphaerocarpa Maxim and Reaumuria soongorica seeds, the study found that Naphthaleneacetic acid concentration, species and Naphthaleneacetic acid concentration and the interaction of species with Naphthaleneacetic acid concentration had a significant effect on the seed germination index. The seed germination index of Caragana microphylla,Scoparium,Nitraria sphaerocarpa Maxim and Reaumuria soongorica all decreased with the increase of Naphthaleneacetic acid concentration, and all were smaller than the blank treatment. Therefore,Naphthaleneacetic acid had the effect of inhibiting seed germination.Different concentrations of Indoleacetic acid treated Caragana microphylla,Scoparium,Nitraria sphaerocarpa Maxim and Reaumuria soongorica seedscompared, the study found that Indoleacetic acid concentration, species and Indoleacetic acid concentration and the interaction of species with Indoleacetic acid concentration had a significant effect on the seed germination index. The germination index of Caragana microphylla,Nitraria sphaerocarpa Maxim seeds increased first and then decreased with the increase of Indoleacetic acid concentration. The optimum Indoleacetic acid concentration was 50mg/L.(4)Different concentrations of Carbendazim treated Caragana microphylla,Scoparium,Nitraria sphaerocarpa Maxim and Reaumuria soongorica seeds, and the study found that Carbendazim concentration, species and Carbendazim concentration and the interaction of species with Carbendazim concentration had a significant effect on the seed germination index. The germination index of Caragana microphylla,Scoparium,Nitraria sphaerocarpa Maxim and Reaumuria soongorica seeds decreased with the increase of the concentration of Carbendazim,so Carbendazim inhibited the germination of seeds.Different concentrations of Avermectin treated Caragana microphylla,Scoparium,Nitraria sphaerocarpa Maxim and Reaumuria soongorica seeds, and the results showed that species had a significant effect on seed germination index.Avermectin concentration had no significant effect on seed germination index. The seed germination index of Nitraria sphaerocarpa Maxim and Reaumuria soongorica was first increased and then decreased with the increase of Avermectin concentration. The optimum concentration of Avermectin for Nitraria sphaerocarpa Maxim and Reaumuria soongorica was diluted 5,000 times.Comparing the different concentrations of Cypermethrin treated Caragana microphylla,Scoparium,Nitraria sphaerocarpa Maxim and Reaumuria soongorica seeds, the effect of Cypermethrin concentration on seed germination index was not significant. Therefore,a certain concentration of cypermethrin has no effect on seed germination.
