The grain size is one of the yield elements of faba bean,which is closely related to its yield and appearance quality.It is important to evaluate commercial value of faba beans.Therefore,analyzing genetic basis of seed size is significant to improve breeding selection of faba bean.Inheritance of was studied in the F2 population derived from Yun122 and TF42.A linkage map was also constructed based on makers,and which was used to identify the QTLs associated with grain traits in faba bean.By this study,the breeding cycle can be shortened.The main results are as follows:1.The analysis of chromosomes in root tip cells showed that the chromosome morphologies and numbers of Yun 122 and TF42.Their the number of chromosomes was are both 2n=2x=12.Two varieties can be crossed to produce offspring.The valid grain weight was controlled by E-1model.Grain length?X1?,grain width?X2?,grain thick?X3?have significantly influence on grain weight?Y?in the regression analysis.The results showed that grain length,grain width,grain thick and grain weight were were normal distribution and there existed very significant positive correlation between four characters in the populations of F2.Comprehensive correlation analysis,path analysis and regression analysis showed that grain width traits had the greatest impact on kernel weight.2.A total of 1106 markers?SSR:815;ISSR:99;Sco T:48;SARP:144?were used to screen the parents have 211 markers showed polymorphism,the rate of amplification was 82.37%and the ratio of polymorphism was19.08%.It is 63 markers showed polymorphism in the F2 population and the ratio of polymorphism was 29.86%.Among the 63 polymorphic markers analyzed 42 markers?66.67%?showed the genetic distortion?p<0.05?in the F2 population.3.A genetic map including four linkage groups was constructed,and which contains 46 markers,covering length of 1198.63 c M.The average distance was 27.48 c M between markers.13 QTLs associated with grain traits were detected.
