A Clinical Efficacy Of Oral Mesalamine And Enema Pulsatilla Decoction For Treatment Of Active Ulcerative Colitis(Damp Syndrome)

Objective: To provide proofs of evidence-based learning for choosing and promoting treatments of active ulcerative colitis(damp syndrome)by comparative study through observing the clinical effects(score difference of TCM symptoms efficacy / serum cytokines IL-6 and IL-13/modified Mayo)of having mesalamine and enema Pulsatilla decoction for treatment orally vs.simply having mesalamine orally.Methods: Cases were my 60 patients from anorectal section of our hospital in september 2014-september 2015 during which they were divided into 2groups randomly,one of which were 30 patients having oral mesalamine and enema Pulsatilla decoction for treatment orally while the other 30 patients simply having mesalamine.Recording and observing the tow groups' clinical effects(score difference of TCM symptoms efficacy / serum cytokines IL-6and IL-13/modified Mayo)and processing datas with Statistical software SPSS20.0,will be collected in line with the positive state of the measurement data(mean ± standard deviation),t-test was used to compare between the two groups;it does not meet the normal metered data with median and quartiles,said the two groups were compared using rank sum test;count data expressed as a percentage,comparison between the two groups using chi-square test.Inspection standards set ?=0.05,P<0.05 statistically difference.Results: Patients in two groups are sharing commonly good basicconditions(P>0.05)eg.in age,gender,weight,Course of the disease and Disease stage thus are comparable;before and after comparative study(results are in sheet 2and sheet 3),Enema group gets remarkable scores and better effects than control group,thus having statistical significance.during the treatment,though the two groups of TCM symptom score decreased(P < 0.05),enema group is better than those of control group,and difference has statistical significance(P < 0.05).After 3 months of treatments,60 patients are extracted static blood and are having tests of IL-6and IL-13again(results in sheet 4 and sheet 5),both serum cytokine IL-13 levels were increased(P <0.05);Comparison between groups Enema group better(outcome in sheet6).After 60 months of treatments,we did the same tests and we get the same answer:Enema group better.Conclusion: Having oral mesalamine and enema Pulsatilla decoction for treatment orally and simply having mesalamine orally both works for treatments of active ulcerative colitis(damp syndrome).and the first treatment gets better effects in TCM symptoms efficacy / serum cytokines IL-6 and IL-13/modified Mayo.
