Objective: To investigate the nutritional status military retired cadres in Shijiazhuang through nutritional assessment and related influencing factor analysis,so as to provide theoretical basis for targeted dietary guidance and early nutritional intervention.Methods:1 Case selection: not hospitalized retired cadres who were in accordance with the inclusion criteria of 28 stations in the Shijiazhuang.2 Evaluation method: The nutritional status was evaluated with a unified questionnaire based on the mini nutritional assessment(MNA)method.Consisting of the following contents: anthropometric measurements(body mass index, arm circumference, arm muscle circumference, calf girth and weight loss in three months),global assessment(six questions related to life style, medication, and mobility);dietary questionnaire(six questions related to the number of meals, food and fluid intake, and autonomy of feeding),and subjective assessment(self perception of health and nutrition).MNA scores were distinguished between the following groups of patients: a)normal nutritional status :MNA ? 24;b)at risk of malnutrition: MNA between 17 and 23.5;and c)those with malnutrition: MNA<17.3 Detection of blood: Including serum albumin(ALB),hemoglobin(HB),total lymphocyte count(TLC),glucose(Glu),total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),creatinine(Cr),uric acid(UA).Results: 358 retired cadres were enrolled.(1)Evaluation of nutritional status by MNA score:275 people with normal nutrition(NN),reaching 76.82%.74 people at risk of malnutrition(MR),accounted for 20.67%,9 people with malnutrition(MN),the ratio was 2.51%.The weight,BMI,Alb,Hb and TLC in MR group and MN group were significantly lower than in NN group(P<0.01),and was also lower in MN group than in MR group(P<0.05).Chronic disease number and drug number were higher in MR group and MN group than in NN group(P<0.05),the TG of MN group was significantly higher than that of MR group and NN group(P<0.05);Logistic regression analysis showed that,Alb,Hb,TLC,BUN,UA,drug number were influencing factors of MNA score.(2)Evaluation of nutritional status by BMI: 8 people were low weight, accounting for 2.23%,129 were normal weight, accounting for 36.03%,151 were overweight, reaching 42.18%,70 people were obesity, accounting for 19.56%;There were significant differences in weight between the groups(P<0.01);MNA score,Alb and Hb in lower body weight group were significantly lower than those of the other three groups(P<0.01),the MNA score,Alb and Hb in the normal weight group were significantly lower than that in the overweight and obesity group(P<0.01);Logistic regression analysis showed that height and weight were only influencing factors of BMI.Conclusions: The military retired cadres living in Shijiazhuang were all in advanced age, some of them were undernutrition, while the others were overnutrion. Therefore, further analysis, such as dietary survey,is necessary,in order to provide theoretical basis for targeted dietary guidance, health education and nutrition intervention for them in the future as well.
