Clinical Study Of Xijiao Dihuang Decoction In The Treatment Of Sepsis (Tipe Of Terrific Heat In Vivo)

Objective:Clinical observation on the basis of conventional treatment combined with Xijiaodihuang Decoction in the treatment of sepsis.Method:24 patients with the diognosis of sepsis(type of terrific heat in vivo) were randomly divided into the treatment group(n=12) and the control group(n=12). All the patients received routine treatment, including anti-infective therapy, and organ function support, etc.The patients in treatment group received routine therapy plus Xijiao Dihuang decoction by nasogastric feeding. We observed the change of Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome score(TCMSS), Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation score (APACHE II) and multiple organ dysfunction score(MODS) though the whole treatment to compare the difference between the two groups of patients in the course of antibiotics and the time of ICU. Meantime we recorded the change of c-reactive protein (CRP), procalcitonin(PCT), lactic acid (Lac) and coagulation function (prothrombin time and activated partial thromboplastin time).All results were analyzed with SPSS 17.0 and P< 0.05 showed a difference, with statistical sense, P< 0.01 showed significant difference, with significant statistical sense.Results:(1) APACHE II decreased significantly for the treatment group, it was better than that of control group (P< 0.05), but there was no significant difference in MODS score between the control group and the treatmeant group; (2) The antibiotics treatment time was shorter than the control group(P< 0.05), The length of stay in hospital for the treatment group was shorter than the control group significantly(P< 0.05); (3) The decreased level of Lac and PCT in the treatment group was better than that in control group, However, there was no significant difference in the white blood cell count and CRP level in the control group; (4) The decreased PT in the treatment group was better than the control group before and after treatment (P<0.05), but here was no significant difference in the decreased APTT between the control group and the treatmeant group. (5) The curative effect for the treatment group was better than the control group.Conclusion:Xijiao Dihuang Decoction Combined with western medicine treatment can significantly reduce the septic patients' TCMSS, APACHE ?, MODS score, reduce inflammatory reaction of the patients, improve organ perfusion, Improve coagulation function, protect organ function and shorten the time of use of antibiotics and hospital stay.
