The Clinical Study On External Application Of Waixiao Rupi Gao On The Treatment Of Hyperplasia Of Mammary Gland

Objective The research by the means of applying Waixiao Ruipi Gao to treat hyperplasia of mammary gland for external use, observed its clinical effect in terms of breast pain symptoms, lump size, hardness and range etc before and after treatment, summarized its clinical effectiveness, and gave a preliminary evaluation of its safety.Methods The case study was performed on 60 patients with hyperplasia of mammary gland selected from breast special outpatient of Nantong hospital of Chinese Medicine.60 patients were grouped randomly to treatment group and control group, with 30 patients each. Treatment group use Waixiao Rupi Gao cataplasm, change dressing 1-2days, continuously using for 2 menstrual cycles and only stop during menstrual period. Control group take oral Rupi Xiao, taking three tablets at a time and three times daily, continuously using for 2 menstrual cycles and only stop during menstrual period. Observe and compare 2 groups from the variations of breast pain, lump size, hardness and range before and after treatment.Reasearch results (1) Both Waixiao Rupi Gao cataplasm and oral Rupi Xiao have obvious effects in relieving patients’pain symptoms and reducing lump size, hardness and range etc. (P<0.01). Both methods have similar efficacy, no significant differences (P>0.05). (2) (2) The total effective rate of treatment group (Waixiao Rupi Gao cataplasm) is 93.3% and control group (oral Rupi Xiao) is 90.0%. No significant difference on both groups (P>0.05). The results showed that Waixiao Rupi Gao cataplasm has obvious efficacy in treatment of hyperplasia of mammary gland, similar to oral Rupi Xiao, no significant difference.Conclusion Waixiao Rupi Gao has the effect of Liqi Tongluo(Regulating Qi and Removing Obstructions in the Collaterals), promoting blood circulation and lessening lumps, activating meridians to stop pain. The application of Waixiao Rupi Gao on the treatment of hyperplasia of mammary gland can relieve pain, reduce lump size.Compare to oral Rupi Xiao,it has similar efficacy in treatment of hyperplasia of mammary gland, its external application is much convenient and make better patients’compliance thus worth future clinical promotion.
