| Objective: We compare the clinical efficacy of electro-acupuncture ther apy for peripheral facial paralysis and indexs including neuron and axon changes from New Zealand rabbit facial nerve injury treated by electroacupuncture and acupuncture two different intervention methods. Through these observations,we clarify a part of mechanism and advantages of mech anism of electro-acupuncture therapy for peripheral facial paralysis. Methods: In clinical studies,we took 60 patients as observed object, the patients whose disease duration from onset to between 7 days were randomly divided into the electro-acupuncture therapy group and acupuncture group. The proportion of electro-acupuncture group and acupuncture group was 1: 1.We observed 28 days(four weeks). The aim was to observe the different clinical effect of electro-acupuncture, acupuncture therapy for peripheral facial paralysis. In the study on mechanism of electro-acupuncture therapy for this d isease, we selected 50 healthy New Zealand rabbits were randomly divide d into control group, model group, false surgery group, electro-acupunctu re group, acupuncture group, 10 in each group. Copy and evaluate facial nerve injury model.we selected “dicang”、“xiaguan”、“taiyang”、 “yangbai”four points. The electro-acupuncture group, acupuncture group began receiving treatment after surgery;the other group received no trea tment; all animal observation period was 28 days(four weeks). After the end of the observation period,we compared the neuronal morphology and survival rates from facial nucleus and the number of axon from facial ne rve in each group. Results: After statistical analysis of this study, clinical research in electro-acupuncture therapy for peripheral facial paralysis found that two groups were statistically significant than before according to scale score and the degree of facial paralysis after four weeks of treatment. That revealed two groups were both effective to treat the peripheral facial paralysis. The result of both groups was statistically significant when we compared two groups after treatment. That indicated electro-acupuncture therapy was better than acupuncture therapy in improving peripheral facial paralysis symptom. In the aspects of facial nerve injury repair mechanism, the electro-acupuncture therapy was better than the acupuncture by improving neuronal morphology、survival rates and the number of axon. Conclusion:The electro-acupuncture therapy is better than acupuncture therapy for peripheral facial paralysis. It has obvious advantage. Electro-acupuncture therapy can significantly improve neuronal morphology、survival rates and the condition of axon growth,so it can promote facial nerve injury repair. This can offer the experiment basis for the clinic treatment. |
