Experimental Research About The Electromagnetic Radiation Of Mobile Phone On The Effects Of Sperm In Mice And The Prereventive Action Of The Kidney-tonifying Recipe

Objective:To investigate the effects of electromagnetic radiation of mobile phone on reproductive function in male mice and explore the prereventive of the pathological i-njuries by kidney-tonifying recipe.Methods:Using a simulated radiant source(the radiation frequency is 900MHz)as mobile phone radiantion,the tested mice received total body irradiation for 2 hours p-er day and lasted for 35 days.According to value of average power density,all tested mice were divided into four groups including the control group(0uW/cm2),the low radiation group(33uW/cm2),the high radiation group(181uW/cm2)and the treated group with Kidney-tonifying group(181 uW/cm2).Mice in the treated group were a-dministrated with the concentrated solution of kidney-tonifying recipe(contain herbal medicine 0.9 g/ml)at the dose of 0.15ml/10g.The other groups were treated with phy-siological saline at the same dose.By the end of five weeks the mice were sacrificed,the testis and epididymis were severed and weighed.And MDA.SOD and T-AOC of the testis were determined.Meanwhile,number,motility and morphology of mouse sperm in epididymis were investigated and observed.Injury of sperm DNA was dete-cted by sperm chromosome structure analysis.Results:(1)No significant difference of the organ coefficient of testis and epididymis among the 4 groups was found(P>0.05).(2)Compared with that of other groups,The SOD、T-AOC was significantly decreased and the MDA was significantly increased in the high radiation group(P<0.05).(3)Compared with that of other groups,sperm motility(36.86±7.58)%was decreased and the rate of sperm abnormality(103.10±10.40)‰ was increased in the high radiation group(P<0.05).(4)Sperm chromatin structure analysis showed that severe DFI(18.28±3.3)%,DFI(22.56±3.41)%,HDS(18.43±2.7)%were all significantly increased(P<0.05)in the high radiation group compared with those of the other groups.(5)Although the mice of kidney-tonifying group were exposed to the high range of radiation power density,no significant difference of the detected indicators between control group and Kidney-tonifying group(P>0.05).Conclusions:(1)The electromagnetic radiation of the mobile phone might reduce SOD、T-AOC and increase the MDA level in the testis of male mice.(2)The electromagnetic radiation of the mobile phone might change the biological properties of sperm and damage structure of sperm DNA in male mice.(3)These pathological injuries which were caused the electromagenetic radiation of the mobile phone might be prevented by the kidney-tonifying recipe.
