Based on the superparamagnetism and good biocompability, iron oxide magnetic nanoparticles have been widely used in biomedical researches. How to develop large-scale preparation methods for magnetic nanoparticles has become a key problem. We developed a novel field-assisted co-precipitation method based on the phenomenon that the magnetic nanoparticles could generate heat in the alternating magnetic field. The productions demonstrated better magnetic properties. The main contents of this paper including the following three parts:1. The nano medicine which has been proved FerahemeTM (ferumoxytol) was used as reference. Results indicated that the magnetic nanoparticles showed a smaller average diameter, better dispersivity and biocompability compared with the commercial ferumoxytol.2. Based on the need of applying magnetic nanoparticles as smart drug carriers, the magnetic nanoparticle clusters with larger average diameter than 30 nm were prepared with alternating magnetic field-assisted co-precipitation, and compared with traditional co-precipitation these magnetic nanoparticle clusters demonstrated a better saturation intensity and hyperthermia in alternating magnetic field.3. To meet the demand of magnetic tissues engineering scaffolds, the anisotropic magnetic hydrogel was fabricated by combining rotating magnetic field and magnetic nanoparticle clusters prepared with alternating magnetic field-assisted co-precipitation. The structures, magnetic properties and hyperthermia of this composite were studied preliminarily.
