| With the change of environment, the faster pace of life, working pressure and other factors,the number of thyroid cancer is increasing in our country.Modern medical treatment of thyroid cancer has many side effects,the quality of life in patients decreased,so combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of thyroid cancer is particularly important.Pingxiao capsules as for a pure traditional Chinese medicine of anticancer agents,which has achieved good clinical effect in the clinic, through literature retrieval found that it is commonly used to treatment of goiter, there are few clinical reports for the treatment of thyroid cancer. Literature retrieval also found that numerous of Chinese traditional medicine has downed and inhibited the expression of SW579 gene and protein in human thyroid cancer cell lines, induced cell apoptosis, but have not yet found the Pingxiao capsule inhibit thyroid carcinoma sw579 cells growth research reports. Therefore, it has important clinical value and significance to carry out the clinical and experimental studies on the treatment of thyroid cancer with Pingxiao capsule.Part 1 Experimental Studies of Pingxiao Capsule Treatment of Thyroid Carcinoma SW579 Transplanted in Nude MiceObjective:To study the growth inhibition of Pingxiao capsule on the tumor body of thyroid carcinoma SW579 transplanted in nude mice and the effect on main internal organs.Methods: Inoculated the tumor body of thyroid carcinoma SW579 in the right axillary subcutaneous of nude mouse. Established animal models of thyroid carcinoma SW579 transplanted in nude mice when inoculated after 13 days, and divided the mice into five groups randomly, the Control group,DOX（Doxorubicin,10mg/kg）,PXCL（Ping Xiao Capsule Low Dose Group,250mg/kg）,PXCM（Ping Xiao Capsule Middle Dose Group,500mg/kg）,PXCH（Ping Xiao Capsule High Dose Group,1000mg/kg）,in addition to the control group had 12 mice,other groups had 6 mice.Volume of distilled water was given to the Control group,and the different dosage of PXC groups were used different dosage of Pingxiao capsule to fill the stomach through the mouth for 14 days, with DOX 10mg/kg intravenous dosing 1 time for DOX group. The tumor volume and animal body weight are tested at regular intervals. Removed the tumors when they had been inoculated after 30 days,calculated the tumor volume（TV）, relative tumor volume（RTV）, anti-tumor rate, body weight and effects to main internal organs of each group,and compared with the control group.Results: The RTV of different dosage of PXC groups and DOX group were much smaller compared to the control group（P<0.05,0.05,0.01,0.01）. Respectively,The anti-tumor rates of Pingxiao capsule groups and DOX group were 25.60%,32.53%,47.88% and 66.00%. Pingxiao capsule also had no obvious negative effect on the main internal organs（liver,spleen,kidney）, main organ weight and body weight in mice when compared with the Control group（P>0.05）.But weight in the mice of the DOX group lost and was obviously lower when compared with the Control group（P < 0.01）; The spleen viscera coefficient of the DOX group was less than the Control group（P < 0.05）, and the viscera coefficient of kidney was greater than the Control group（P < 0.01）.Conclusion:Pingxiao capsule had obvirous inhibition effect on the growth of the tumor body of thyroid carcinoma SW579 transplanted in nude mice,dose-effect relationship was obvious,and had no obvious negative effect on the main internal organs in mice.The experimental results suggested that pingxiao capsule may have therapeutical effect on thyroid carcinoma safely and effectively.Part 2 Clinical Studies of Pingxiao Capsule Treatment of DTC Patients Treated with 131I After SurgeryObjective:To investigate the clinical effects of Pingxiao capsule used as an adjuvant therapy in treating the patients of Differentiated Thyroid Carcinoma（DTC） treated with Radioiodine-131(131I)after surgery.Methods: Divided 60 cases of patients of DTC treated with 131I after surgery during March 2013 to May 2015 from Xijing hospital into two groups randomly,the Control group with 30 cases after 131I treatment for conventional treatment, and treatment group with 30 cases after 131I treatment based on regular treatment（PXC）,taking Pingxiao capsules for 3 months,The Karnofsky scores,clinical syndromes,peripheral blood cells,hepatorenal and kidney function,were compared before and 3 months after treatment.Results: Compared with before treatment,the clinical syndromes in treatment group significantly improved（P<0.05）,the scores of Karnofsky in treatment group increased remarkably（P<0.05）.The Karnofsky scores and clinical syndromes in treatment group improved better than control group（P<0.05）,Leukocyte level was higher in treatment group than control group（P<0.05）;After treatment, hepatorenal and kidney function has no significant difference between two groups（P>0.05）.Conclusion:Pingxiao capsule used as an adjuvant therapy in treating the patients of DTC treated with 131I,could significantly improve the clinical syndromes after radiotherapy,improve the life quality and safty. |
