ObjectiveExploring the clinical manifestation and imaging features of renal leiomyoma to improve the diagnosis renal leiomyoma. MethodsClinical date of 2 cases of patients with renal leiomyoma treated from January,2010 to January,2016 in the Quanzhou first hospital affiliated to Fujian university were retrospectively analyzed. And review related literature, and analysis and discuss the clinical manifestation, diagnosis, treatment and imaging features of renal leiomyoma. Results2 cases of preoperative color dopplor ultrasound examination showed that the kidney has a nature is to be determined material mass, with clear margin, and mixed echo. This 2 patients took computerized tomography examination(CT). One patient's CT showed the upper pole of the right kidney has a mass, malignant tumor can't be excepted. Another one's CT suggests the right kidney mun solid mass, malignant tumor not excepted. 2 cases were not further took magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)examination. One case was considered to be a benign lesion, and the other one was considered renal cancer cannot be ruled out before operation. According to the tumor location, size, and surrounding tissues adhesion, and respectively took hand assisted laparoscopic to gouge out one tumor, and took retroperitoneal laparoscopy with nephron-sparing surgery(NSS)to treat the other one. Postoperative pathological examination confirmed as renal leiomyoma. But all of them not took radiotherapy or chemotherapy after operation. And further long-term follow-up were not experiencing discomfort or imaging changes. ConclusionsRenal leiomyoma is a rare benign tumor of the urinary system, and it's lacked of special clinical symptoms, rely mainly on imaging studies preliminary diagnosis preoperatively. Color dopplor ultrasonic examination combined CT examination is the most commonly used and the best way to diagnose preoperatively. Pathological diagnosis is "gold standard" of renal leiomyoma. Preoperative fine needle aspiration biopsy and fast frozen pathological examination were important to determine the surgical plan. Improving the accuracy of preoperative color doppler ultrasound and CT or MRI examination to avoid or reduce the misdiagnosis of renal leiomyoma as renal carcinoma. Radical nephrectomy or simple nephrectomy may be avoided.
