The Significance Of Preoperative NLR And PLR On Predicting The Clinical Stages In Gastric Cancer

Objective To investigate the relationship among preoperative neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio(NLR),platelet to lymphocyte ratio(PLR)with clinical stages of patients with gastric cancer(GC).Methods The present study selected 317 patients who underwent GC surgery with GC from January 2012 to August 2016.All patients were confirmed by pathology finally,and 50 cases of healthy adults in the same period.GC patients were divided into stage ? group(Al),stage ? group(A2),stage ? group(A3),stage IVgroup(A4);healthy adults group(B).The routine blood test results were collected preoperation and calculated the NLR and PLR.To analyse the relationship among the NLR,PLR and the clinical stages of GC.Results 1.The difference of NLR and PLR between A and B groups(the mean range of NLR in A.B groups are 99.21.197.37,Z=-6.081;the mean range of PLR in A?B groups are 110.06?195.66,Z=-5.303.)were statistically significant(P<0.001);The NLR was no significant difference between A1,A2,A3 and A4(P>0.05);The difference of PLR between A1 and A3(Z=-47.042,P=0.002<0.0083)was statistically significant;The PLR was no statistically significant difference between the remaining groups(P>0.0083).2.In A1-A4 groups,the area under the ROC curve of NLR were 0.698,0.756,0.813 and 0.721,and PLR were 0.62,0.732,0.752 and 0.680(all P<0.05),respectively.3.The cut-off value of NLR was 3.37?2.853?2.058 and 2.831 in A1-A4 groups,and the sensitivity were 37.3%?47.4%?77.7%?51.2%,and the specificity were 96%?90%?70%?90%(all P<0.05),respectively.The cut-off value of PLR was 146.73?144.906?123.822 and 147.209;the sensitivity was 37.3%?52.6%?74.6%?74.6%,the specificity were 92%?92%?76%?76%(all P<0.05),respectively.Conclusion Preoperative NLR and PLR have a certain significance in evaluating the clinical stage of gastric cancer.Preoperative NLR and PLR prediction are of high significance in advanced gastric cancer.
