Objective: This work obtains the physical development status of infants under 3 years of age by analyzing the dynamic changes of the height and weight of infants under 3 years of age in Dalian from 2010 to 2015.To understand the growth and development trajectories of infants and young children in this region, this work analyzes the physical growth data of infants under 3 years of age in Ganjingzi District,Dalian City. Thus, this work builds a theoretical foundation for improving the children health work in the region. Methods: The data of physical examination of infants under the age of 3 in 15 districts(cities)in Dalian from 2010 to 2015 were analyzed by SPSS17.0 statistical software. The rates of reaching the average of height and weight, the stunting rate, the wasting rate, the underweight rate, the obesity rate of infants under the age of 3 were obtained. The physical examination data of infants under 3 years of age who were born at the Ganjingzi Airport Epidemic Prevention Station in Dalian City from January 2013 to June 2016 were collected. The mixed effect model of longitudinal data was used to analyze the height, the weight of the longitudinal changes in the trend of the infants and young children aged 0-3 years, and to establish the growth curve. Results: From 2010 to 2015,the rates of reaching the average of height and weight for infants under the age of 3 in the urban area of Dalian were around 75%,while the rates for those in the rural area were around 60%.Thus,the numbers for infants in the urban were higher than those in rural areas during the 6 years.During the period of 2010-2015,the stunting rate of infants under the age of 3 in the urban area of Dalian was fluctuating between 0.20% and 0.60%,while the number for infants in the rural area was between 0.80% and 1.30%.During the six years, the stunting rate of infants in the rural area was 4.2 times,1.8 times,4.7 times,2.9 times,3.3 times and 2.6 times of that in the urban area, respectively. The underweight rates of infants under 3 years of age fluctuated between 0.50% and 0.90% in the urban area, and between 0.90% and 1.10% in the rural area, respectively. The underweight rate of infants under 3 years of age in rural areas was 1.6 times,1.5 times,1.7 times,1.8 times,1.3 times,1.6 times of that in the urban area during the 6 years. The wasting rate of infants under 3 years of age fluctuated between 0.20% and 0.40% in the urban area, and between 0.80% and 1.30% in the rural area, respectively. The wasting rate of infants of the age of 3 in the rural area was 4.6 times,3.5 times,5.0 times,3.1 times,3.7 times and 2.5 times of that in the urban area. The obesity rate of infants under 3 years of age in urban and rural areas of Dalian fluctuated between 3.90% and 5.50%,and between 2.10% and 3.10%,respectively.The obesity rate of infants was 1.8 times,1.8 times,1.8 times,1.5 times,1.7 times and 1.6 times of that in the rural area, respectively. In Ganjingzi District,Dalian City, the heights and weights of both male and female children under the age of 3 increase with age, while in the same month age,the average height, and weight of boys are higher than girls',and the growth rates of the height and weight are larger than girls'.For infants under the age of 36 months, their heights are affected by their fathers' in the following way: if the children's fathers are 1cm higher, then the average height of infants is increased by 0.250 cm.The growth rate of infants under 36 months of age is reduced by 0.045 cm per month on average, showing a slowdown trend. The growth rate of boys under 36 months of age decreases by 0.0461 kg per month on average, and the average growth rate of girls' weight decreases by 0.0457 Kg,which both show a slowdown trend. Conclusions: The length(height)and weight of infants under the age of 3 in Dalian City is at a high level. The stunting, underweight, wasting and obesity rate of infants all remained at a low level and the gap of infants between urban and rural areas is gradually narrowing down. However, the improvement of malnutrition and prevent obesity in infants should be paid more attention.Under three years, with the age increasing, the growth of the lengths(heights)and weights of the infants is slowing down, which is consistent with the rule of growth and development.
